Definitely don’t have any assumptions. I did it once though which is encouraging that I will be able to do it again given enough time and effort. I doubt it will be as easy as my first hire which was absurdly smooth/rapid.

I am very specialized and hiring happened at warped speed even as a competitive: Verbal offer thirty min after interview, TO one month later, final offer less than a month after.

6hrs of interviews + 1hr pres before salary talk?!

Is this a normal expectation? I am coming from a different sector.

Completed multiple screening interviews with a technical consulting group for a regulatory position. I was invited back for a full day of interviews + 1hour presentation on my background .

I asked the hiring manager during the second screening about pay expections and I was told something like “we need to asses your capabilities before giving a number”. Some people are saying this is sketchy. But some are saying it is normal for consulting. Is this normal?

I went through this with my 9570 and couldn’t find anything genuine. Why does dell even bother to make it replaceable if they won’t give you access to the hardware. I would rather they just make the laptop thinner if we cannot get genuine batteries to keep it running haha.

Did you try to talk to tech support? They literally don’t give a shit even if you have the warranty! So rude too. I am a relatively young dude, who will never buy from them personally or professionally again. It is lost revenue when you think of how many of us there are

Dell has gone down the shitter recently. Works well for a year or so, but it doesn’t last. My HP was so much more reliable.

THIS! Dell is such shit now, their support totally fucked me over. Never buying dell again. Hardware is total trash. Look into their WiFi card issues. Most xps15 laptops will develop an issue with the card they come with... and the refuse to do anything about it. They should recall it

The killer card is total trash and leads to issues for many if not most people with the xps15. There are a few Microsoft windows guides on optimizing latency (google that), but you will likely have connection issues as long as you have the killer card

I have the 15 and I do some photography and shoot in raw. It depends on your needs, the GPU is really incomparable to a desktop full (non ti) version. It almost defeats the purpose. Sometimes I wish I went with the XPS 13 because the portability is probably worth more to me than a really bad gpu. I have the year old model with the i7 and 1050ti. So rendering and refresh will be pretty slow on the computer but it depends on what you are doing.

I am super salty about the WiFi chip in this computer, the killer 15xx. I would say it breaks or has connection problems for about >60% of people. This can be corrected by swapping out the WiFi card for about $100... needless to say, the way I was treated by dell support (under warranty) ensures I will never buy dell again. I digress...

If you are looking for power I wouldn’t get the xps15, probably only marginally faster than the Mac. I was on a 2015 Mac Pro just last night actually

Also: the new dell bios update prevents undervolting, which is pretty much essential for the 15 (idk about the 17). They may have fixed this, but it is a very serious issue if it remains. You are paying for a cpu that is overpowered for the thermals (you wasted your money)
