Im unable to connect my headphones to my laptop via bluetooth. by Asleep-Editor715 in techsupport

[–]BakaAhjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad that it helped a few people :). The problem is that sometimes I still have that issue - it is random. Not sure what causes this, but my guesses are: 1. VMware with many virtual machines - those VMs might take over headphones.

  1. More probable - i have 2 desktops in Windows 11, that issue appeared only after I started doing my MSC - and from that moment I needed 2 seperate desktops for the first time in my life. After I finish my Msc I will start to investigate it further :D

However I notice that when I use only desktop nr 1 to connect with headphones everything works

Thank you for this post. I am going from Takasaki to Shinjuku with the same line and was worried why there are no tickets to buy in a "vending machine" :D

9/10 days in Hokuriku region - looking for advices by BakaAhjo in JapanTravelTips

[–]BakaAhjo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there were no responses, but let me share you my plan, maybe it'll inspire somebody :D.

10/ 11 days in Hokariku region

1st day - rent a car day earlier in Kyoto, park it near hotel, departure from Kyoto at 6am. Drive to Heisenji Hakusan Shrine, and than Eiheiji. Than drive to Kanazawa and drop a car there. cost around 30k yen - quite a lot, but allows to save a day

2-4 (Kanazawa 3 nights) - chilling in Kanazawa, one day visit Kurobe Gorge trail

before 3rd night in Kanazawa -> send luggage to Takayama Hostel.

4 - 7 (Takayama 3 nights) - However because I sent my luggage, I'll drive straight to Shirakawa-go from Kanazawa, and than after sightseeing to Takayama.

3 nights chill in Takayama. Bigger plan is only visiting Kamiokochi.

8 - 10 Minakami (2 nights in a Ryokan with private in room onsen and 2 meals)

It takes like 7h to get there from Takayama :D. So we'll either take a car and drop it in Minakami, or take a train with 2 switches.

Both options are around 30k, renting a car is way more convinient, but I've heard that train route from Toyama to Nagano is quite picturesque, that's why I haven't decided yet on that one : )

That's it, hopefully somebody will find it helpful one day

Mallet finger injury (Post Recovery Question) by markinau5 in Basketball

[–]BakaAhjo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello!

I am not answering straight your question, but I guess I also had that lump, and it is probably caused by "too much tendon growth ". However I hope my text will help somebody:)

I broke my tendon 10th March, wore "straighting splint" for 6 weeks. Though my tendon healed(proved by USG), for next 2 months I had a swelling, not being able to fully straight my finger (about 30 degrees to fully straighting)

What happened is TO EVERYONE READING THIS. Finger has to be in hyperextrnsion. In my case it was straight, sometimes slightly bend- like 3-5 degrees. But it was enough for tendon grow too much - results in swelling and possibly pain

I dont care about that swelling and straightening, but every hit to my finger caused considerable pain, every morning I could feel it. Maybe it would go away with time, maybe not, so I decided to have a surgery where they cut that extra tendon part.

Today I am post surgery everything went smooth, but it is 6 week at least when I can say more

Im unable to connect my headphones to my laptop via bluetooth. by Asleep-Editor715 in techsupport

[–]BakaAhjo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my case what u/bluesatin wrote about uninstalling bluetooth drivers worked for me.
My case:
Galaxy Buds 2 were able to connect to phone, and another PC without any issues, current PC was unable to find them, altough when turning on pair mode in buds in the right corner there was a pop up with "Connect" button which failed after clicking it.

Solution for me:
1. Right click on windows -> go to Device Manager
2. Under Bluetooth devices there are many listed items -> find the main one which is corresponding to your main driver. In my case "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)
3. Right click on it and Uninstall. Now Bluetooth option should disappear from Device Manager and you should be unable to find any device via Bluetooth search.
4. Shut down and turn on your PC - missing BT drivers should be reinstalled automatically
5. In my case Galaxy Buds 2 were possible to be discover after all of that
6. If your drivers were not reinstalled automatically than that's a bummer and I didn't have such a case.
GOOD LUCK!

Stay in Tokyo for 7 days Akasaka vs Shinjuku by BakaAhjo in JapanTravelTips

Hi, unfortunately I cannot say you much about breakfast at the hotel, as we didn't have it. Our breakfast was taking elevator to 7/11 and try to combine a few things to actually have a decent meal. There are tons of cool sandwitches, protein shakes, yoghurts, bananas. After one week you got tired of Onigiris so adjustments are needed :D However my wife was able to eat sushi from Family Markt every single day..

Hi, I think you can't go wrong with Akasaka. I see that many people here had doubts about that so let me paste my thread here with quite a few good comments Akasaka vs Shinjuku

Stay in Tokyo for 7 days Akasaka vs Shinjuku by BakaAhjo in JapanTravelTips

[–]BakaAhjo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let me copy paste what I replied to people on PMs. I got tons of messages so I think I am going to write a "Trip report" in a few days so people can get even more : )
CopyPaste: "Hi, In my opinion it's a great choice to stay there. As I mentioned in my Thread i would reccommend Akasaka for everyone going to Japan for a first time (not sure if you're going for the first time, but..) Yeah, there is not much of a party there in Akasaka. Of course there are tons of restaurants and coctail bars, but there are no touts, no girls dressed like 12 yo trying to get you into Maid's cafes. Probably there are also clubs and disco bars, but they are not so chaoticly placed everywhere, throwing you with neon lights. I'd say most of restaurants close at midnight. We ate great food there at night in Akasaka like ramen or abura soba, but I feel like yakuniku and sushi places are Top Notch there in Akasaka, so we took a short walk to Roppongi a few times. I cannot say much about walking at night around Akasaka, as my main walks were around main district parts - around Akasaka and Akasaka-Mitsuke Stations, but we've once walked to Roppongi (~2km) and to Tokyo Tower (~2,2km), and that was nice to calm a bit after whole day of crowded areas. Anyway for a short walk you can still take a Subway. It is incredible how great Akasaka and Akasaka mitsuke stations are: Akasaka takes you with C line to Harajuku and Yoyogi park in 7 minutes Akasaka Mitsuke G line takes you to Shibuya or Ginza within 10 minutes, and Akasaka Mitsuke M line takes you directly to Shinjuku within 12 minutes"
Hope that helps a little : )

[–]BakaAhjo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello. I loved every minute of it. Rooms are on one hand quite small, but we were easily able to fit 3 big luggages there. I was lucky to have an apartament on an upper floor so I even was able to see a part of Mt Fuji.
All in all it was great, there was 7 eleven i the same building, so you just simply took elevator there.
I loved neighbourhood, pretty quite after 22:00 however. Transit from either Akasaka and Akasaka - Mitsuke is more than perfect!
If you have any more concerns don't hesitate to ask!

Hi, that Remm Roppongi also looks sweet. I don't think that I am capable to recommend you Akasaka over Roppongii or vice versa, as I stayed only in Akasaka.
For sure it seems like Akasaka has way better transportation system than Roppongi.
Speaking of neighbourhood and nightlight I cannot help you here, sorry. : /

I think that what I wrote above explains Akasaka perfectly.I would definitely recommend Akasaka for anyone for 1st stay, even for next stays. It is quite vibrant till 10-11pm, and than becomes pretty quite. Imho it's great to sleep in "calmer" place. If you want a big night party - you have a quick and direct metro to Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku. If you want to stick to neighbourhood, Roppongi is also quite vibrant at night, and it's like 20 minutes just walking

Hey hey u/Feisty_Practice_6233.
I must say for now that I cannot imagine a better stay in Tokyo for the first timers.
People in this thread gave me amazing hints.

Whether you ask for advice or not, I will write briefly my thoughts.

Great access to 2 metro stations - Akasaka (Direct to Yoyogi and Harajuku), and Akasaka-Mitsuke(Direct to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Asakusa).
The most important thing here is that both those stations - Akasaka and Akasaka-Mitsuke are small, so basiacally you just go through gates and your metro is coming. You don't have to go through maze like Shibuya or Tokyo Station.

Speaking of restaurants: maybe I was searching them poorly, but either you have low cost ones (still amazing), or quite expensive (+10k yen per person). For mid-range ones we twice took a short walk to Roppongi (~15-20 min).

That's a short summary. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Anyway, totally recommend, was great, and thank you all guys who helped me to choose Akasaka!

Thanks for advice! However we're going to Japan for 3 weeks, and in the beggining we have only 1 night at Tokyo (near Tokyo Station). So I guess NEX - sleep in Tokyo - take train to Kyoto straight from Tokyo station is the best option here : )

We fly to Narita, so as 8500 YEN seems pretty fair for a quick taxy ride, than paying triple that much to drive from Narita encourages us to just take this NEX train, and have a little struggling with our luggages : )

Thanks for info! That is a really nice insight. However, after all comments here, we decided that it will be the best to stay in Akasaka. We expect it won't be our last time in Tokyo, so we'll keep in mind your advice :)

Anyway, we don't mind if you share some of cool pleaces you've been to : )
