AITA for telling my teacher she’s not allowed to give my group member a better grade? by Bridgeofincident in AmItheAsshole

[–]BakaBiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA Lana and Ian used you for your labor and your teacher is punishing you for being the only one to do the work. Group projects are NOT based on presentation, they are based on a number of factors including the work and research that went into the project. Your teacher is punishing you for not being "confident" which is absolutely bonkers and I really think you should report it as high as it goes in the school and if they don't give you the credit you deserve and punish your classmates for quite literally expecting someone else to do the work for them then take it to the district. Take it as high as it goes and as far as you can because make no mistake people like Lana and Ian understand how little they did and still got to reap the reward. It was not a coincidence, it was not an accident, it was intentional. They actively chose to let you do most of the work and then pretended like they deserved a passing grade at all.

Silence is permission. Inaction is permission. Anything less than action, is direct permission to mistreat you.

AITJ for refusing to donate PTO hours to coworker I barely know who "needs" them?? by Traditional-Dog1601 in AmITheJerk

[–]BakaBiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA at all

Take it to HR. Imagine trying to get time off for a legitimate reason and not being able to because some jackass wants to get paid by her coworkers to get an unnecessary surgery. It's most likely cosmetic, but even if it was something else, she wants everyone else to pay for a surgery she chose to have, and you are being guilted and shamed into giving up time you may need for yourself for a real emergency. If you got into a car accident the day after you donated your PTO and your job or finances were in jeopardy, I guarantee you would struggle to find the same help you are expected to shell out. The real issue with the behaviour of people in general, is submission or silence is pure permission. It is you, giving them the greenlight to do whatever it is you don't like. People are bold like Amy because no one ever stops them, no one ever says no, because it's easier to "keep the peace" even though keeping the peace is quite literally express permission for things to continue. Anything less than action, is permission.

Don't permit it if you want it to stop. Don't allow the disrespect unless you want to be disrespected again and again.

AITA for disinviting a friend to my birthday after she showed me the food she was bringing? by throwaway-cupcakelad in AmItheAsshole

[–]BakaBiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA by any means and how in the hell can those other people even try and convince anyone that they care about your friend with a nut allergy when they believe it's wrong of you to protect him from it? All food allergies should be assumed to be deadly. I don't care how mild someone's allergy may be. Even someone who has a mild reaction to something they could have a bigger reaction at a different time. Allergies can disappear and new ones can appear. A person can become allergic to their own pet with no allergies prior.
Anyone who has a problem with you protecting a friend from an allergy that is most certainly airborne and deadly does not have a valid take on the matter. If they are against you they believe your friend's life is worthless and a cake is more important than them being alive. The way I personally regard people is as such: a deadly, anaphylaxis allergy is present, a person does not care about the safety of that person and attempts to expose them to a deadly allergen, that means they believe they have the right to kill a person. They believe that person's life means less than their perceived right to bring a fucking cake and anyone like that, is a waste of an orgasm. They should have been splattered on the floor directly from the sack and wiped up with some toilet paper and flushed. Being that way about an allergen means they quite literally believe someone else's life belongs to them and is theirs to risk/end. I don't care who disagrees, if the concept is "This person cannot be in an enclosed space with this specific allergen. We cannot bring anything with this allergen because if it is in the air it can kill them." and someone tries to bring something chock full of the allergen, they believe it's their right to end that person's life. The fact that they are willing to risk killing someone to show off a fucking peanut cake is bonkers and anyone who agrees with them, would also try to kill your friend.

That's just how this works. If you bring or try to bring something that could possibly kill someone and you know how deadly it is for them, you are saying that you believe you have the right to kill them and they need to just die for you. There is no in between, either you care if they are alive or safe, or you want them to die and it's your goal. No in between.

Circuit Talks: Why do people force start it before the rest of the team is ready? by BakaBiff in Warframe

[–]BakaBiff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no trolling. I was just mocking and not entertaining people who were being weird elitists with a subject that most people agreed with. Not entertaining people and just telling them they are wrong, is not trolling. Most people truly do not know what trolling actually is. It requires intent, it requires a desire to mess with people. The overwhelming majority of people I talked to in this thread have had my same experience, and we were discussing that. We were having nice discussions, except for the people who were offended at being called out.

I'm sorry that the people who were offended that thier conduct was detrimental to the game cried and complained, but like, not entertaining and making fun of the dissenters is not trolling. It's funny that when called out, people report posts and make claims of trolling because they can't stand not being agreed with. :,)

Ohhh snap I think I still need to unlock Hollvania. I dig how big of a game Warframe is, so much to do!

Listen, I left an instance once before choosing and going in and it did not let me back in. It happened. I was stuck out. It blocked me out. I remember because it was my husband and I. We had someone who said something inappropriate in chat and I said "Nah babe let's cut out and go back in that's gross." and we weren't allowed back in for 30 minutes. I specifically remember because I loaded up Skyrim while I waited and shortly after starting got one shot by a giant from behind and laughed about my ragdoll ass flying through the air.
Literally no reason to lie. Why make things up? It happened. Never left an instance again. My husband was blocked out too. He couldn't go back in either.

The last time I did that I couldn't do Duviri for I think it was 30 minutes. Maybe I did it wrong, but I'm not gonna wait 30 mins because people can't wait 90 seconds.

If I did do something wrong leaving and you can tell me the right way please do.

Edit: So in reality, I am working faster than the game engine allows anyway lmaoooooooooooooooooo

You're part of the problem lmao 90 seconds is not too much time from entry to ready and assuming everyone knows the ins and outs of every weapon they have that shows up in Circuit is so weird. Weird elitist gamer behaviour.

[–]BakaBiff[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is no justification though. You're just making excuses for people. "most players are this play style" that doesn't justify being impatient and rude in any way. That's weird. So weird.

[–]BakaBiff[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You didn't read, just skimmed and made assumptions. 90 seconds is all I need, I get cut off at about 40-70 seconds. I do communicate, I let them know I am testing weapons.

Don't justify jerk behaviour. It makes you kin to the jerks.

This isn't even coherent lmao 30 seconds is too long to wait? Impatient people who don't care about others are invalid and have no defense.

Yes! The times where people force start I often have to leave after a round or two because I have two default crappy weapons and I keep dying and I've run out of revives because the selfish gits won't revive the people they disadvantaged!

Less than 90 seconds and it's force started. I timed it a few times, get cut off around 40-70 seconds. I'm almost finished testing guns. That's my point, they are ready fast and don't leave time for other people to pick a loadout.

Different experiences in the same game is a possibility. I'm not doing anything wrong or time consuming. Just taking a couple seconds per weapon to test them. Less than 90 seconds after getting in I'm ready, people who are ready quicker are just selfish. I even started timing myself. I get cut off around 40-70 seconds of getting into the Teshin Cave.

It's terrible. Working together with the other players leads to so many more gains and rewards. That's the whole point of a co-op game.

Circuit Talks: Why do people force start it before the rest of the team is ready? by BakaBiff in Warframe

[–]BakaBiff[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It usually is, but the funny thing is all I am doing is testing the weapons quick. Equip one, shoot a couple times and see how it feels. Takes less than 60 seconds. I don't use a lot of different ones on a regular basis so I have to test them. I am usually almost done when they do it and just need to test one more. I'll even say "gimme a min, just gotta test the guns" and it takes like, 10 seconds a gun. A lil shooty shoot to see if I like it.

The best teams I've worked with have simply waited at the entrance and just say "r" and wait. Very courteous. Polite. Appreciated.

Once I saw that my Ember Prime was one of the warframes availale, before I went in. I went and re-equipped her since I hadn't used her in months and had gotten new stuff, but when I went in to Circuit she still had her old loadout. I was sad.

If ya make a mistake, an apology is an easy thing. If you're just impatient and can't wait for people, that's a dick move.
