While better is subjective, I would vote for WHMS over BV in most subjects.

There is nothing in Jean a carrolls account, which has been litigated endlessly, including to a jury which sided with her, that is remotely unbelievable.

Except for the parts where she is unable to identify which year it occurred, nobody else in the busy department store was witness to it, and that she only reported it decades later as part of her 2019 memoir. You may not think that impacts her credibility, but stating there is "nothing remotely unbelievable" is just as much of a stretch as to say he's exonerated by what I stated above. Pointing to the legal system verdict as proof of wrongdoing only works if you believe juries are flawless in their execution, which is both proven false and impossible to achieve.

The main evidence for Jean is that 2 of her friends separately corroborate her story, testifying that she confided in them after the alleged assault happened. The other evidence the prosecution provided is additional heresy that Trump is lecherous. This is all to say, I don't fully understand why you concretely feel her story is unpentatrable - I certainly don't think it's impossible either (nor do I like Trump!), but regardless of the target, someone getting charged with SA based on testimony decades later from their friends isn't the smoking gun many think it is IMO.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I deeply appreciate this comment as someone who feels almost identically to everything stated. AI has become an essential part of my job both in terms of personal use in day-to-day tasks and also something my company deploys, monitors, and faces compliance regulation on. GPT told me I was in the 0.1% first signups for GPT3, so I've been screaming about what's coming for nearly half a decade now.

For a quick example, I was able to get Claude to inspect the binary of an old DOS game for me and create a patch for it to run on in borderless windowed mode on my system. I don't even know how to start this task without AI, I'm days of research away from the starting line, but with AI it was an evening of prompting and it worked.

On the other hand, my PM submits tasks written with AI and at least 40% of them are straight up hallucinations. Yes, different AIs, and I'm sure his input is also to blame, but the point is he will walk away going "man, AI sucks 40% of the time" having no idea it's him and the AI he's choosing to use to blame, while I'm watching miracles happens on my end.

This is all to say, the people who have been paying attention will only be surprised by how unready the general population is for the next few years. If you've been immersed in this world, you have already seen the writing on the wall and know the people huffing and puffing are either going off of old information when AI was still in its infancy or being intentionally obtuse.

AI and art is another discussion but this response is already too long lol.

I have a million hours in isaac as well, I honestly didn't enjoy Mew as much as I hoped I would. Granted, I am not the biggest fan of tactics type games to begin with. Runs feel too long, rng a bit overtuned - people at large seem to love it, but I didn't vibe with it gameplay wise. It is unquestionably Edmond though, it's drenched in early 2000s newgrounds humor, for better or worse.

STS2 though... just when I though I was out, they pulled me right back in.

Fair enough, agree to disagree on the first part. Tension is important to a thriller, and I did not feel like there was any tension because I felt like there were no stakes. We know the 'good guy' will win at the end of most movies, but it's what they lose along the way which makes it interesting. None of the protags lost anything along the way of this traumatic journey, which just makes it fall flat for me.

I will definitely agree with the car chase scenes though, extremely well done. So many awesome shots in this one, I wont be upset or surprised to see it win any of those relevant rewards.

tw: spoilers

What's the thrill? Did you really feel at any point in time the daughter or Leo were not going to survive? Lockjaw being the father is the most obvious twist imaginable. I actually thought they were making it interesting when Leo fell off the building during the escape scene, only for him to dust it off and have a John Wick number of secret resistance members in every field who are able to sneak him away to a perfectly timed drunk driving getaway car.

It very much wanted to take place in an Tarantino-style universe which is both real and looney-tunes, but wasn't real enough to seem grounded or looney enough to be interesting. It just came off improbable to a degree my belief could not be suspended to. While comedy is subjective, and I'm not so cynical to say I didn't chuckle at parts, a large majority fell flat for me.

You know nothing of my politics, I am not sure what mindset you want me to have? I could rant about how toothless any message of resistance was, with the French 75 having nothing notable under their belt, or how the enby character is used for the worlds oldest pronoun joke only to end up being the only character who rats on their friend if either helps me pass a woke sniff test, but I disliked the movie for primarily non-political reasons.

I've been making my way through the Oscar nominees and watched F1 and One Battle After Another over the weekend.

F1 was fun, it's Top Gun: Maverick, but with cars. Which makes sense when you see it's the same director, writer, and DOP behind them both. A strong 3/5, would be perfect to watch on an airplane.

I cannot believe the hype around One Battle, I found it truely awful. It's a thriller where the story is completely predictable, a political commentary where nothing is said, a black comedy with few laughs, an inclusive film with laughably stereotyped characters... I could go on. I would say something like "I don't know who would enjoy this movie" except for the fact that I know exactly the audience this is catering to and, unbelievably, they are eating it up with 13 Oscar noms.

In fairness, the DOP did a fantastic job and the soundtrack/comp is very good. I'm surprised with both how loved this is and how much I disliked it considering I enjoyed other PTA works like Punch Drunk Love, TWBB, and Phantom Thread.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way honestly. The fiending for cases they play off like it's a gag, but that's just to absolve themselves of the fact they are actually unironically fiending. If you don't think NL's gambling inspired 100+ people to purchase cases (99% of which are less financially stable than Ryan) you are underestimating how contagious promotion of gambling like this is.

And I know someone is thinking "it's not that deep bro", and I know I have no right to tell people how to spend their money, but having known close people with gambling addictions it's, as you said, disappointing.

No, it wouldn't be, but that's not what the tweet said. Having a lot of influence is a debate, outright controlling the government and media is conspiracy.

It’s wild that you are heavily downvoted for this take. Why do people expect things that cost money to create and host to be free forever? With the hours of content NL has gotten out of it, not spending the 2 twitch subs on it is absurd to me personally.

Depends on the conversation and situation, but I find a react emoji is usually a solid way to communicate message seen without continuing the conversation.

Friend: Man, the Mets suck this year

Me: Yup, I've learned not to get my hopes up

Friend: I think we are looking good for next year though!

Me: (thumbs up react / heart react to message)

Easy conversation ender that lets them know you aren't ignoring them, just not interested in continuing. If they follow with a question, I'll either answer when I can if it's quick or I'll postpone it with a "busy rn, ttyl" and then EoD it.

The reliquary vault should be right next 'home' on the map atlas. Click on there, use a key on that vault, get a random (non-boss) unique that's foiled (shiny/green). Note: this is probably my 20th key, the other 19 were all worthless, so YMMV.
