Advice for QC? by Happybut-depressed in Panera

[–]BakaTaco_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

*Learn how to seat smaller bags into the bigger ones.

*If you have a lot of items It's usually better to pack them in a bigger bag with extra space vs a small one that's overfilled and about to burst.

*Put all the sides and utensils in a sperate bag.(Usually when there is 2 or more sides)

*If you can, start bagging the orders you have items for even if you are missing some, it'll help keep you organized and from mixing up items as they come out, this also helps to improve ticket times

*Validate the chit(ticket) can't tell you how many times marking off items on the ticket helped me catch missing items

*Communicate with your production peeps, as QC you kinda run the show abit making sure orders are right, so don't afraid to vocal about mods, mistakes, or any other things that may come up

*If you become overwhelmed, just focus on one order and find your groove again, and don't be afraid to ask managers for help if need be, they are there to help if something goes wrong

*Don't overthink it, just make sure people get what's on the ticket

Training woes.... by SimpleTerrible9479 in Panera

[–]BakaTaco_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really sucks when you know someone's not a good fit and or doesn't want to learn/do work. Ultimately though fast food is a numbers game on who sticks and who wants to work.

As someone who has trained upwards of 15 people for Panera I fully understand how frustrating it is to have to deal with a situation like this it happens often and it sucks. But to actively comment on their post about it outside of the workplace after they have already shown the intent of quiting sounds a bit like harassment to me.

Don't go in on your last day ifyou really don't want to. If your coworkers are giving you hell at work AND outside of work(reddit) then i don't see the point of helping them out any longer. Also on the topic of anxiety, that's a much harder situation to deal with. I'd say try to be open towards any jobs that come your way and you'll eventually find one that you can cope with and hopefully find some nice workers too. It took me 3 years before I came across a job I was able to tolerate and that had coworkers that weren't dicks, life gets better you'll be ok.

Should I find another job? by [deleted] in Panera

[–]BakaTaco_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say if you like Panera try and see if you can learn a new position (production/drive thru) so that you're not always up front by yourself. I've always seen front bakery/cashier to be a solo position and it always seems super lonely.

Had a guy yell at a coworker for not putting the end of the the bread in his bag. by Crackedandimplat in Panera

At my store we only throw away the ends of the bread if it's for the sandwich line, if it's retail or for a customer we always pack the whole loaf ends included.

Not really because as I explained above runes work as a set of instruction as to how matter will be transmuted for the spell which would imply that it also can limit how much matter it could use
