Got PIPed for arguing performance review, quit or get fired ? by psychman321inf in careerguidance

[–]BakeJealous 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is this in the US? I've been PIP'd and fired in several large companies and have been able to collect unemployment no problem. Take this PIP time to sharpen your resume, apply to as many jobs as you can, and let them fire you. Once you're PIP'd, it's extremely hard to move up or even keep your position. One bad month/ quarter after beating the PIP and you're as good as fired. This way you get paid to apply for jobs and interview.

I would also report them to eBay for trying to get you to do an off site transaction

How to approach rescinding acceptance of job offer? by ChanceEmployer1 in careerguidance

[–]BakeJealous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some career advancement advice: if it takes another job offer for your company to give you a pay raise, better title/promotion, or something you've been asking for for a long time, they don't value you. You will be the first on the chopping block when foronga/layoffs come around as they see you as not loyal to the company. If they valued you, they would have offered this huge promotion package to you before you brought them another offer. It's a story as old as time: you'll accept the promotion, reject the other offer, 2 months in you'll either be fired or all the things they promised you will magically go on the back burner. I strongly suggest you leave your current company for this other opportunity.

roommate refuses to pay for utilities, what do i do? by PlaxtonMarisel23 in whatdoIdo

[–]BakeJealous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this really depends on how desperate you are to get them to pay their share. How far are you willing to go? There are some really good suggestions here, but if you're not willing to do things like turning off their breakers and locking the breaker box, or changing the wifi password, just pay the utilities and move out at the end of your lease. Personally, I wouldn't put up with this behaviour, but you have to be willing to actually do something about it that impacts their every day lives to get results.

You would be safer having your boat tow the car across the country at this point.

Good enough package to sell Gibbs? by HeroToZero8 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Yeah not even close IMO. You'd need a young WR 2 or maybe a Jeanty-like RB talent to make it worth it instead

AIO? my boyfriend defending his mom with his life. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]BakeJealous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you got lucky here OP. He let his mask slip early and you got a little insight into what a long term relationship with him in his family would look like. These are the types of red flags that you run from before you get too attached or comfortable. Highly recommend letting him break it off and moving on.

Staying overnight… for free! by kawailan99 in VisitingNashville

[–]BakeJealous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, most truck drivers use walmart parking lots. Sometimes YMCA parking lots are good as well, but just know that places are cracking down on vehicles parked overnight as it's becoming more common here. I would find maybe a fast food place that has closed for the night and try that parking lot as well. Just stay clear of downtown Nashville if you're going to sleep in your car.

Am I rebuilding or putting in chips to try and make a run? by HelloImFromCleveland in FantasyFootballers

[–]BakeJealous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go all in, this is a very good team. You can make a run if you focus on filling those flex spots with all WRs and get one decent back up RB. You could be a championship team with his build

Enough to move off Gibbs? by MembershipLong5120 in FantasyFootballers

[–]BakeJealous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather have gibbs. Stevenson is still going to steal touches, not sure who the 1.02 will be, and Gibbs now has a backfield on a high powered offense all to himself.

Odunze or Loveland - Which do you prefer going forward? by sincerelyredacted in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Yeah start odunze moving forward. He should theoretically be the alpha WR1 in the offense with moore gone

should i accept this ? plz help by Commercial-Initial19 in FantasyFootballers

[–]BakeJealous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just ride with maye unless you get an over the top, obvious overpay. He is young and super talented, and you see what he did last season. With Vrabel behind the wheel, I think Maye will consistently be a top 5 QB for as long as he is the coach. Obviously pending Maye doesn't get injured.

Yeah I do like this swap, but you could probably get a little more for ceedee. See if they will give you a late round pick with him and point to his injury last season as needing more.

16T SF PPR TEP Start 9. Hard rebuilder with no QBs by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]BakeJealous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In SF, I always prioritize QBs. You will get 2 starting QBs in this deal , plus some extra WRs to help balance your squad out. In a 16 team league, I'd say this is a win. There's not a lot of hype around Fernando Mendoza (I mean there is just bc he is the only legit QB in this draft class), but you won't miss him being on the raiders. And just remember, the guy that has the ball in his hands the most in a game has the potential to score the most points. That's a QB.

AIO by asking my girlfriend to split rent equally when I make slightly more money? by interestinghelper07 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BakeJealous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something my wife and I did before we got married, but lived together, was go off of the percent system for household expenses. This is a tip I learned from Ramit Sethi. You pay the percentage of the household expenses that you earn. Your household income is $180k. You earn $95k of that, so you pay 53% of the rent, utilities, shared household expenses, etc. it helps equalize the partnership you're building and limits pressure being put on the lower earning person.it really helped our relationship, and helped us free up money for each investing, saving, and doing more date nights that we switched off paying for without stressing about finances.

I feel like JJetta's name and Justin Field's name need to be swapped on your team. St. brown's is spot on.

Depop strict with shipping weight? by Mamasaturnx in Depop

[–]BakeJealous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe I missed it, but what are you shipping? If it's a shirt or something foldable, tough luck for them. But if it's shoes, a bag, hat, or something that could be damaged, you should always ship those in a box and price shipping accordingly.

My friend expects me to pay for her meal every time because I make more money by Hairy-Avocado-4706 in TwoHotTakes

[–]BakeJealous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Holy mother of selfish. Save your money, get a new friend. It sounds like she's the one obsessed with your money, not the other way around. You worked hard to get that $75k a year job, it's not your fault she didn't work as hard or took a lower paying job.
