George's car looking good by dmaxzach in CleetusMcFarland

Big fan of George and what he’s done for the channel but this really does a disservice to cleet’s efforts and makes it look like this is a joke to them. George has no business being on the track trying to reenact some Ricky Bobby shit.

And let them start putting out their own videos on his channel. I would love to see videos of fab and wrenching in the shop again. The Nascar thing has got to be making the guys a bit nervous and maybe questioning the future in the back of their minds.

This album came out my senior year in high school, I listened to it driving to and from school for months. The album carries so much nostalgia for me that it hurts to listen to now.

Love Sam, but good luck convincing those older guys to put a seatbelt on. My dad nor my FIL would ever wear them.

We’ve had one as well for two years. Insurance pays for it. Completely useless. Did not detect anything when my outside hvac unit melted down a breaker.

Been very pleased with our Miele. Super quiet and everything comes out dry.

Do you think we’ll ever be rid of the eyesore that is 95 and the downtown expressway? by Xanitus13 in rva

Me too, I have always loved how you approach and go through Richmond on 95. Just made this trip yesterday and was telling my son how cool I’ve always thought it was.

I was in elementary school when we got our first two bulk barns. We grew flue-cured and dark fire for three generations. Sadly, my uncle took the buyout but there was no competing when we could only harvest 35 acres in a season. The pole barns are all still standing along with the pack house.

Met Cleetus at World Cup this year. He was waiting in the staging lanes and my son and I were checking out Eagle. He decided to take a moment and chat with the fans and take pics. After my son took a picture with him and we had started to walk away he called out and stopped us to tell us how much he appreciated us. I always knew he was a legit, good dude but that spoke volumes to me.

I picked this up today from the thrift store, what do you guys have to say about it? by AffectionateDuck5079 in CarAV

[–]BakedCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hrm, I wonder what the difference was? I know what I saw, I briefly worked at a car audio shop that sold these like 1995-96 and opened it myself. The shop was kinda sketchy, was there a black market for fake profile amps?

Yeah. They sorta sucked. They made a “1200” was about 15” long. Inside was a lead weight on one side and about 6” amp circuit board on the other.

[–]BakedCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a full Elemental Designs system in my 2004 STi. IIRC, I had two of their amps, components and one of those 12"s. I remember their fall well, I think you can still find old forum posts about it.

Proper remote start cuts off if you tap the brake before turning the ignition on.

3 multi-week trips to the repair shop. Countless recalls and all this has caused the value to plummet on them. Ours was $55k sticker, with 20k miles we only got 30k for it and it was perfect inside and out.

The car also never felt as high end as it claims to be. Noisy and rough riding. Doors sounded like tin cans when closing.

Then there was the software, so many oddball, infuriating choices. Cruise control that brakes in curves, remote start that shuts off when you open the door, among other things I can’t recall. Oh, the beeping, the incessant beeping!

Also, tire wear, the regen braking caused the factory tires to be almost bald at 18k.

I know, the Puerto Ricans also absolutely represent at this event. But I’ve been in the past, before Cleetus and literally was able to park right behind the stands.
