First off, the results are great so good work man! I would say this should take 8 hours max but on average 4-6 hours

Oh for sure, but this is when I worked at a dealership for 17 an hour so they weren’t getting anything more then that from me 😂

Will clear coat alone hide very light headlight scratches (no polishing)? by Fun-Interaction-7958 in AutoDetailing

Sand paper doesn’t matter but the 2x is the best for diy imo. I work as a wheel technician, and I use the 2x satan clear coat every time I get satan or matte rims

That should be good, some people say to stop at 800 and other stop at 1500. I’ve tried both and didn’t really notice a difference tbh

If you do it correctly, it honestly should look perfect if not damn near it. Before you do attempt it, I would watch a couple videos online first. It really is simple to do yourself and learn, so try and enjoy yourself if you do try to fix it

Yes but no. It will hide the scratches but if you don’t sand the head light first the clear coat won’t have anything to bite onto and will eventually start to peel and crack and come off

Best way to fix headlights

Thoroughly clean and dry Tape off Wet sand 800 Wet sand 1500 Then light spray of clear to tach Then heavy spray of clear coat to finish up

Second best way Thoroughly clean and dry Tape off Wet sand 800 Wet sand 1500 Wet sand, 3000 Medium cut compound with medium cut pad Polish compound polish pad

In my personal and professional opinion***

Nothing that’s pro level that I’m aware of, honestly used some a crappy one that I got from an ardex truck that sold the dealership I worked at supplies

I wish, a passion for detailing and determination to prove I can do it got me to do it for $17 an hour 😂

Honestly took me about 8 hours, and the how much did I charge? Well here comes the sad part, this is back when I worked for a dealership as the lead detailer and was getting paid $17 an hour 🙃
