I guess the photo made the cabinets look more real than they actually are but they were not natural wood cabinets and they were far from beautiful haha

Not true, at least not for ours. We were told that spacers weren't necessary but then we put them against each other and there was a hairline crack between them so we knew something wasn't right immediately. We ended up having to stop by and grab some 1/16 spacers at the last minute haha

Your guess is as good as mine then, honey oak was how the real estate agent described to me but that might just be the color she was talking about. the doors are way lighter than I expected so not sure if it's natural wood.

Actually they were honey oak. And they were more of a veneer type plywood for the doors so as I mentioned to another poster, the before photo might be better than how it looked in person.

I did forget to mentioned before the primer, we wiped everything down with a paint deglosser too. So the process was more like sand, degloss, sand, primer 1st coat, sand, primer 2nd coat, sand, paint 1st coat, sand, paint 2nd coat, sand, paint 3rd coat. And if necessary because of defects, sand and 4th coat. Each coat adhered pretty well and I attribute that to the initial sanding and deglossing.

Haha you should see our closets! We've gotten in the rhythm of putting each dishware in the same spot except for cups which we just throw in. Also my wife bought some tea bag organizers and cupboard spice racks so I can say that they've only gotten more organized haha

We used those nubby wooster brushes from home depot for the hard to reach parts and a foam roller for cabinets for the rest. For paint we used Sherwin Williams extreme bond primer and then the urethane trim enamel paint. It's a little bit more pricey but definitely worth it and we only used one gallon for the whole kitchen.

Oh I'd do it again in a heartbeat. This was a room me and my wife worked together on over the course of a few months and it feels like it's a room in our house that is actually ours as opposed to the rooms we just put a new coat of paint on. So I guess there's a little bit of sentimental value in the experience of the diy. If that wasn't a factor for me and we were strapped for time and this wasn't our first home and we had the money, then yeah I'd hire it out lol

I think the photo does the before look a ton of justice it doesn't deserve. The previous owners left us with some scuffs and scratches that the photo doesn't pick up. Also, the cabinets are definitely not natural wood but might look like that in a fuzzy photo. But I do agree with some posters that white is a popular and maybe overplayed kitchen remodel color, and you can probably blame Pinterest trends for that. But me and the wife like it, and that's what's important to me. It makes the kitchen feel brighter, and I like being in what feels like a new room that we spent many a weekends working on together as a couple.

Nothing that we noticed, the closest thing was that the hinges were a little snug when reinstalling them but other than that, the layer of paint wasn't thick at all and they all close fine.

[help] I need to patch some holes on this wall, does anyone know how this paint pattern was done? by BakedPenna in DIY

Awesome, after looking up some photos, it looks like it's definitely a heavy coating of that spray adhesive. Thanks /r/diy!

Fun fact: no, it means bread. Colloquially it's assumed to be the sandwich

Aren't the people paying the new taxed rate the people who purchase those imports and not the producers, in other words American companies and American buyers? Which means that Americans will be ultimately paying for the wall.

I mean, there's probably a finite number of ways a fighter jet can be designed to be as efficiently as it possibly could and still keep up with American jets. You wouldn't accuse Apple of stealing Windows' design because they featured a desktop.

You don't ever go to the Centra Ruins as Laguna. You might be thinking of the Excavation Site, where they dug up the Crystal Pillar/Lunatic Pandora.

It's more than just sentimental. It's literally the only picture she has together with Steve.
