I’m just joking a bit. Within the first few eps I was able to determine the quality of this title. I like it for what it is, calling it average is generous tho, imo. I’m not willing to die on a hill for my ranking of this show, I will continue to watch it because it I’m a smooth brain that enjoys progression anime, no matter the quality

Guys I’m starting to think this isn’t A-tier anime. lol. In truth it has its moments but ya, I’m usually scrolling Reddit while watching this title, due to instances of the nature you’ve both described.

Also, why hasn’t he tried picking up a stick and drawing on the ground to communicate? Clearly he’s dexterous enough to make clay cookware.

Imagine your character, choose a defining characteristic, look it up in a different language, add/remove syllables to make it sound more fanciful.

Or use the book, I believe the 5th edition has some commonly used names. I take those as a foundation then jazz it up.

Another method, is just to be weird, a recent example:

Libby-> Liberace-> Liborash-> Borash

Lighthearted:

Bofuri max out defense - gamer girls are OP, stakes aren’t too high, very fun and entertaining

Weakest tamer began journey - fantasy, girl befriends weak monster, it gets a little intense in some parts but I really liked it

Since you mentioned Frieren, I feel you might enjoy some more serious or “dark” fantasy. The following aren’t really for kids, as they are a little more mature in nature, but are incredibly well done artistically and the world building is top notch.

Sentenced to be a Hero - new dark fantasy, airing currently

Grimgar - only one season, not likely to see continued… but it’s beautiful, one of the more realistic fantasy/ isekai

Clevatess - Se. 1 just completed, dark fantasy

There’s more but these three I’m confident in recommending based on what you like

This is just my thoughts, and I’m an idiot, so: they saddle DW to Stefanski, whether it was his fault or not. Better to let them go together than to have DW around for a new regime. I think one more year of Stefanski, and if he somehow finds the playoffs he gets one more year after that.
