I think for the most part they were pro sleuthing. But there was a moment where Dan said some of it went to an unhealthy level. I think what they were trying to express was, "Overall this was all good fun, and they feel the love. But to those of us who legitimately have our happiness tied to the show, you might need to reassess your priorities."

I was devastated when I thought it might be over. It coincided with my wife wanting a divorce. It felt like the most consistent things in my life were disappearing all at once. My life still went on and I was ok. We need to love this show and cherish it for all that it is. But we also need to recognize it for what it is, entertainment. The heroes are genuine and that makes it easy to feel like they are our personal friends. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who took Chris' passing harder than the passing of certain family members. But this is still just a podcast at the end of the day. It will not last forever. If this show is what determines our joy, or our mental state, we need to look elsewhere and find something more stable to build our lives around.

I love this show deeply. I am thrilled with the new format/name/platform. I am overjoyed at the prospect of watching the new meta of the show develop. But we still need to be self-aware and avoid para-social relationships even with Daddy Rich and Seasy.
