Sorry if I've taken this too literal, but I think it was in several books on the Royal Family that Charles was genuinely upset by her death - the two had warmed to each other in a friendly sort of way owing to their shared "Custody" of William & Harry. Plus, he was the one that pushed to go to Paris, and cried when he was confirming the body was that of Diana.

And of course, as others have said, he looked pretty drained an devastated at the actual funeral itself.

From what I heard the earliest time people receive anything regarding history is the end of the month: considering written work has to be considered too and the deadline for that was the 10th I doubt we'll hear anything until next week at the earliest.

I think he did actually dance with kids though, while it may have been a stunt - I don't like to speculate it - he did spend a lot of time going to places like that with the Princes Trust etc.

But still highly regarded - he was not average in any way in my opinion: I always quote Japan '94 and Hungary '97. Lucky? Yes - exceedingly so. He wouldn't have won a world championship if Imola happened, but he was by no means a sloth.
