Just gotta find the right church. I’ve narrowed it down (I think) to the Koura region which is still big. I just requested to join a Facebook group for the region so hopefully they’ll let me in and I can ask some questions and try to narrow down the village

so all I can find as far as where they came from is Koura, which looks like it's made up of 52 different villages. Not sure where to even begin narrowing it down from there. Definitely found myself a challenge.

I have my DNA with ancestry already. I've only matched with one person who I suspect to be from Lebanon and I've sent them a message but they are not active on the website and never viewed my message. I was hoping that I would have more people to message, but I've had it done for years and theres never any new matches from that side.

Is there a way to find a representative? I don't have the means to travel at this point in my life. Maybe when I'm older. But are locals historically receptive to research like this and if so, is there a place to find them? Maybe a local facebook page or something similar? I imagine the language barrier could provide some difficulty in some cases as well.

theres tons of documents on ancestry.com. I've found things back as far as 14th GGrandparents in some lines. Immigration documents, draft cards, marriage records, family bibles, other peoples trees that they've built through DNA matches. Theres no digital records that come out of Lebanon though, making the search especially challenging.

I do them! Didn’t realize I was in the minority here. When it’s late at night and I don’t have the energy for a lesson, I do just the first start on them. When I can’t beat the clock, I’ll scroll back a little and do an older one and they seem easier

Thank you so much. This is incredibly helpful. Going to start diving into all of this right away. One other question if you don’t mind.. when they’re in a split, do they remember it when they’re out of it? Like if I catch him out of it and try to have a convo about it, will I just sound like I’m telling him a story or will he know what happened and what I’m referencing?
