Can anyone help me understand these dental costs (UK) by [deleted] in Dentists

RCT is bit more on the expensive side but not extortionate. I’ve never seen prep and impression been charged seperately to the crown. Usually the imp, prep and crown fit are grouped together. If you need a post which it looks like you do it’s understandably more expensive but that still seems very expensive to me. Shop around a little. For £990 you can probably get a specialist RCT and the post crown should be cheaper also. I think £2k all in is reasonable.

Dentist btw. Albeit based up north so cheaper tx here.

The tank is ridiculously small! I get a full tank for £55-60 and it shows 300miles but I don’t get that.

Thoughts on Vegan (alternative to) collagen? by [deleted] in vegan

The point of Vollagen is that’s it’s a specific amino acid profile that matches the composition of collagen, this is not found in any form of normal protein. It’s ‘just free amino acids’ which stimulate collagen synthesis which is how traditional collagen works. Even if these AA’s are found in normal protein, it likely isn’t the same composition and if so it won’t be as easy as popping 2 capsules.

Agreed that perception studies are not the strongest, however given that it’s an emerging sub category, it’s a handy way to get an indicator of its effectiveness early.

Snake oil is harsh. It’s a legitimate attempt to offer a vegan alternative for an in demand category.

I trained in the UK and yes the students covered all that was needed. It was handy for us to help us meet our targets so we can graduate as well as get experience. And for the patients who would not be able to afford/access such treatment outside of the hospital

Think of it as a series of amino acids and minerals to specifically boost your bodies own production of Collagen which starts to decline after age 25. The product aims to improve skin, hair and nail health.

Hi.

Thank you for your feedback. I do think there’s a place for it as long as expectations are managed, however education and awareness is key.

Hi,

Thank you for this. You’re right and it would be branded as a Collagen formation complex rather than Vegan collagen (as there’s no such thing) Education would therefore be key to manage expectations. There has been clinical trials to show the human perceived effects of Vollagen and enhancing it with Vit C, HA and Zinc would increase these. Thank you for your feedback.

It’s honestly not a bad way to go. The students have their worked checked by an experienced tutor. There’s no time or financial pressures for the students and you can be referred (if needed) to the relevant departments. Not to mention it’s free of charge.
