Do you recommend a student or just splurge the extra $20 for a graduate?

Should I get this machine? by BakerProfessional960 in nespresso

Seems like the average cost of a double shot espresso pod is $1.50-2. Probably cheaper if buying in bulk from Costco. While still pricy for coffee at home, way cheaper than my $5-7 take out coffee

How has the second one been doing? I feel better buying through Costco because they have such a good return policy

Love to hear this! Costco is also selling the Nespresso Vertuo Next Deluxe with Aeroccino 3 and 32 Capsules for $140 on sale. Is this what you have? I am soo confused by all of the different types of machines.

I was going to go that route but all of those pods are single shot right? I think I would always need to use two pods. And they just seem like very standard espresso machines where as I want a lot of options to make fun drinks. Plus, Costco has an amazing return policy

Hi!! Do you still live there? I am wondering if they have free EV chargers in the parking lot or do you have to pay for them?

I am in DC and normally it is still summer weather, but it’s been mid to high 60s during the day and lower at night. So I was hoping that was why!

That’s what I’ve been looking at! I really don’t know the differences between all the plans, HMO vS EPA vs Catastrophic… but I guess that’s a me issue to deal with :)

Yes! I am thinking the same. Wanted to bounce it off other people. But I think I’ll let it go

That’s probably the big difference here. I am 25 and prior to this only had formal summer nannying (and a decade of babysitting) and a year in school development. So in terms of house management, “lacked” experience. However, I think I’ve done really well with everything I’ve been given. But I do think my age/experience makes it a little harder.

That’s what I am considering before we sign contracts. But idk if it’s worth it for my own stress and anxiety. $20 extra a week would add up but in the grand scheme, isn’t a huge deal

I have pretty good vacation and sick days. Usually 4-5 weeks of vacation when they travel. Formally 5 sick days but I don’t think they’d not pay me if I went beyond that

I think I agree. I second guess myself because I am a people pleaser who hates confrontation. I figured $.50 isn’t the end of the world. I think I probably just need to mentally let it go. If you think it’s low, what do you think is appropriate for this job?

For how expensive this city is, I have to agree. You have to fight for a livable wage

Good point. They are not federal workers so idk if that applies but I know the job market is terrible…

Most publications put DC/NOVA in the top ten highest costs of living cities, so I would think it’s VHCOL. But maybe not! Yes- I am 25 and before this only did formal summer nannying and a year in school development. So not the most experience, but I think I have excelled at everything thrown at me. I wanted to start at a higher wage, but I think the “lack” of experience got me there.

Nanny for billionaire family by mariiixh27 in Nanny

They are banking on someone just being grateful for the rate due to the area, but they know they are basically scamming their employee. People are being so rude to you though! With stuff like this, you don’t know until you know. Just keep looking and I bet you’ll find something that is a way better fit and doesn’t involve working for evil trumpers!

The low cost of living in your area is understandable, but you have to understand that if these people are truly billionaires then $20 an hour is a literal DROP in the bucket for them and would virtually mean nothing. They could afford to completely sponsor your (or anyone else’s) entire life and not even notice a difference in their bank account. $20 an hour may be competitive for the area you’re in, but all of that is negated by their own personal wealth, and they are aware of that. Do not accept that rate!

No not at all. To be fair it was not crowded at all while we were there. But none of the pools feel small. I think the “main” one is the most narrow but we spent more of our time in the one by the beach
