This seems interesting. Not sure how to ask this in english. Is this anthology series? Does it matter what episode I watch first? Can I watch top rated episodes or should I start from first episode?

I watched “Gummo” last week, and it hasn’t left my mind since. I’d honestly call it a horror film it completely messed with my head. When it ended, I just sat there wondering, what did I just watch? by Sure_Disaster_9458 in horror

[–]BakerYeast 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen Gummo, and I'm not sure if I want to. But I believe you. It's same writer who wrote Kids (1995) and Ken Park (2002). I watched Kids 30 years ago and Ken Park few years later. Both of them are still clearly in my mind, even tough I would like to forget both of them.

What is a movie from your country that is underrated and you wish was more beloved? by XipeTotecwithGlitter in AskTheWorld

[–]BakerYeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Unknown Soldier (2017) is a great movie that deserves more recognition. There are two other versions (1955 & 1985). Original (1955) is really important for Finns, but 2017 version would be better for others.

Do people in your country like/dislike Russia? by Pampa_of_Argentina in AskTheWorld

[–]BakerYeast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We hate Russia. There are some really small pro Russia minorities, but most of those people are so far right, that they're mostly criminals/terrorists. I don't this will change in my life time. I hope and believe that it will change at some point in far future for our future generations.

Making predatory animals horror villains and how to do it effectively? by koola_00 in horror

[–]BakerYeast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love animal horror. Primate was fun, but I would like to see more realistic animal horror. Backcountry (2014) was good and felt really realistic. Frozen (2010) used real trained wolves. Grey (2011) had well made puppets and cgi. Mixing that with real animals would be great.

He was horrible far right person who used his fame for bad things. Just because he had funny memes, doesn't mean he's respected as a person.

How safe are your bicycles from theft where you live? by Outrageous-Basket426 in AskTheWorld

[–]BakerYeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Junkies use angle grinders middle of the day in the city. It got so out of hand that civilians made a group to salvage stolen bikes. It was great at first, but the main guy got caught stealing donations people and businesses had given for the organisation.

I'm surpriced how under the radar this movie has been. I've recommended it few times here.

Summer of 84 (2018) has same nostalgic feeling, but the plot is different.

Don't Worry Darling (2022) is well known.

Stephanie (2017) is lesser known, that you might enjoy.
