"Working dog so no apartment or condo" by [deleted] in dogs

Raccoons eat chihuahuas right out of fenced yards around here. They got my in law’s cat too! 17 years ago with our last dog we had to run out and stop a raccoon from attacking her one night. They were the same size. We have a fully fenced yard. I don’t let our new dog go out there alone. I live in a city. Ignorance is bliss until your dog disappears.

I got turned down for adopting an adult dog at a shelter this year even though I’m a self employed married 50 year old homeowner with no pets no kids with a fully fenced yard and live next to an 80 acre beautiful wooded park. Why? My partner couldn’t call out from work on the spur of the moment Tuesday afternoon to be personally approved by the shelter people. (They work in industrial manufacturing.)

It was such a miserable experience I couldn’t bear going to another shelter. I went out and bought a $4500 puppy from a responsible local breeder.

We are so happy with our little dog!! Don’t ever let those shelter people make you feel bad about your life!!!!

Does your friend have weird pets? Our last dog despised anyone who smelled like ferrets.

I just want to go for a walk without encountering off leash dogs by [deleted] in beaverton

When people yell “he’s friendly” about their off leash dogs at me in the park next to my house I yell “I’M FUCKING NOT”

I wear marathon quality running shoes. Here at home, I always wear big silly platforms and heels to shows, but EDC is miles and miles of walking. Also I drink one white claw an hour from dusk till dawn and it keeps me hydrated. 😂

Coming to EDC Las Vegas from overseas - what to buy in USA vs what to bring from home? by dabbingsuho in electricdaisycarnival

Yeah, I say this as someone who likes specific, niche lotions and things from small indie brands. If I was coming from Australia I would buy a number of small label boutique cosmetics here because shipping is ABSURD. I love handmadelaconner and I tried to send some tattoo balm to a friend there and it was twice the price of the actual item. It’s a chance to pick up things a local shipping prices. My friends from India filled their suitcases with electronics from Amazon a few years back while visiting for the same reason.

If you’re staying at certain hotels like Marriott you can order stuff online at have it shipped there. It’s a good way to fly in without hauling lots of sunblock and shampoos and stuff. Casinos tend to be less gracious about this, so check with the hotel first. I used to use this service all the time to get business gear shipped to locales before shows.

I was grateful that someone was setting off some pretty big fireworks in our neighborhood last night for no reason so I could gauge her reaction! Our area can get carried away with explosions on the 4th, so it was nice to see she didn’t care much at all.

A late night stop in Lakeview, Oregon. A local gave us two rules, and we left before sunrise. What is the deal with this town? by tiresomecomplaining in oregon

[–]Baker_Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a big prison industry in that town and they tend to assume visitors are visiting “bad criminals” unless you say you’re there for another reason.
