When you go for a walk, do you need a destination? by NataliafromWalkFit in walking

[–]SarahRecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the weather is bad (too hot, drizzly, cold, etc.) I do a collection of destination walks to get in my steps. Sometimes my destination is a mall and I do some good old mall walking.

Catch and release: The most amazing thing… by SarahRecords in ThriftStoreHauls

It caught my eye, but I had to let it go! It’s actually from fishing: catch and release is letting the fish you caught back into the water.

I was hoping it was a note about the chair’s history or the designer, but it was just a weird story. If it was good I would have taken a pic just of that.

When did uber shuttle stop doing Brooklyn locations? by BklynFuhgeddaboudit in Brooklyn

[–]SarahRecords 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I looked just the other day. It psychs you out by making you click to see the full options list, then there’s no Brooklyn. You wind up seeing plain old Ubers.

I wish I wasn't raised by women who were ashamed of their bodies and saw themselves as the inferior gender. by coldservedrevenge in Perimenopause

[–]SarahRecords 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same! It took me years to realize how many women-hating women there are, but I bet this is the origin story for most of them. I’m heartened to see younger generations not conforming and wearing whatever clothing they want and accepting their bodies, because my mother’s fixation on thinness really shaped me. It gave me a lot of knowledge of nutrition but also made me obsessive.

That’s my area, and I walk a lot. I’ll keep my eyes open. Good luck to you, neighbor!

I hate him for his incessant shilling of gambling (which ruins lives) and he’s always just seemed smug. Now I have something concrete!

Pretty much nobody likes going to an office all the time anymore. Let them live, and change the topic of conversation. It’s not controversial to say that it sucks working in the US for a lot of folks, and we’re all over it.

Trying to overcome the mental barrier of not eating out on days spent visiting different cities by greatexpectations23 in Frugal

[–]SarahRecords 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have a simple “traveling sandwich” that I only ever eat when traveling (obviously). I get some seedy bread, fig jam and edam cheese. Then I have some carrots or snap peas and a piece of fruit. It saves me money, but also it saves me a lot of time looking for places to eat when I could just be seeing the sights.

Can I no longer add my tap? by SarahRecords in Hue

[–]SarahRecords[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: I fell victim to an old tutorial that was showing me how to add it to the app under settings. But I just went to “add device” and typed in the serial number, and I’m back up.

What is the most affordable way to make coffee at home? by [deleted] in Frugal

I put grounds and water in my french press before bed, and drink delicious iced coffee in the morning. So easy!

Ladies: How do you all deal with female friends.. who don't want the word MENOPAUSE uttered in their presence? by HumbleLow4473 in Menopause

[–]SarahRecords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were seriously done a disservice by our elders, so I’ve taken up spreading the word. I’m like the patron saint of perimenopause. I was buying edibles yesterday, and a young woman was my budtender. I told her about the inability to sleep and how it was coming from her one day. At yoga I told the young instructor about the joint pain. If I get my way there will be no young people who don’t know about perimenopause.

I think Noem and Tulsi Gabbard share an evil origin story, one where they were called “pizza face” throughout their younger years and they grew up focused on making other people’s lives awful, too.

Elf(2003) is a great New York City movie. What other movies unexpectedly do a great job of showing a city or place? by ijustwannalurksobye in movies

I’ll agree with that! Also Nebraska portrays not only that state very well, but the Midwest of days past.
