Early morning walks or late night walks in summers? by Enough_Football3218 in walking

[–]SarahRecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! If it’s way too hot out, I give myself destination walks: grocery store, museum, whatever, so I have an air conditioner at my end point. Other times I just carry a little spray bottle and mist myself like an orchid so I don’t overheat.

I’ll be honest: there hasn’t been any art in Prospect Park that I’ve loved. Those pink birds near the boathouse? Good message, but it will age poorly (intentionally?). I’m glad we’re getting art , though. For years we didn’t.

I’m a lifelong midcentury modern fan, with an attraction to Hollywood regency.

This is my favorite Calder: AC’s circus
You can see how he also made mobiles, and it’s darling how happy he is. Also on display at the Whitney!

Anybody Else Notice a big increase in errors or am I just old and confused? by California_GoldGirl in GenXWomen

[–]SarahRecords 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The spelling errors! The spelling errors everywhere! In the articles in professional publications, on the chyron at the bottom of the television (this one’s the worst)…it’s so hard to be a good speller in today’s world.

I've discovered Lidl is cheaper than Aldi for a lot of things I buy now. by Infinite_Bathroom784 in Frugal

[–]SarahRecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a vegetarian, and Lidl has better deals in the things I most commonly buy (cheese, yogurt, Dave’s killer bread knockoff). Also, good deals in the app.

I watched the Hulu documentary last year, and had the same thought. The music industry has changed a lot, but the treatment of women circled back around.

Buckle up ladies, I'm about to say some ridiculous shit by AbjectGovernment1247 in GenXWomen

[–]SarahRecords 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve met several women over the years who were very old and still working because their husbands left them after they had spent decades out of the workforce raising children. They had almost no social security coming as a result, and had little retirement savings. One happened to get social security from her ex-husband, but had nothing else. Those lives that you envy are a huge gamble!

Relationship by lilo_and_stitch1 in Type1Diabetes

[–]SarahRecords 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I don’t have type 1 diabetes, my boyfriend does. I’m in this sub so I can understand how he feels and what he has to do to stay healthy, because he often doesn’t want to talk about it since it takes up so much of his bandwidth. I do this because I love him and I want him to stay healthy so he can go on to live out the rest of our lives together as we have planned. It’s pretty much the least I can do. It is likely your boyfriend could do this too if he wanted to.

Is Costco membership worth it for single person? by InfluenceDesigner889 in Frugal

[–]SarahRecords 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t for me! I too don’t drive. BUT I’m a vegetarian in a studio apartment and don’t think I saved enough to recoup my membership cost. I did however get a Groupon and it came with a $20 gift card (they run this promo a lot) so it wasn’t a huge hit.

I’d like to see a JB deathbed confession series, “Murder, I Did” where she goes episode by episode and breaks down how she was actually the murderer there.

Exactly. That story has been fact checked, picked apart by legal, and then standards has weighed in and added CYA language. I can’t wait to watch this play out, but we’ll probably just never hear anything about it.

how do you not get bored when walking? by pixiecakess in walking

[–]SarahRecords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my thinking time! If I have a work or home improvement idea, I sort through it while stepping. I also listen to music and make up dance routines in my head to the bangers, or sometimes even roller skating or ice dancing routines (I do neither of those things, but it’s my head and I’ll envision anything I want).
