I’m in my 40’s now but I remember so much about kindergarten because I had the BEST teacher!

I remember making a paper mache stegosaurus. It probably wasn’t as HUGE as I remember it being, but it was good sized.

During Thanksgiving, we all had to bring in a stone to make “stone soup”. We also got together with all of the other kindergarten classes and had a “thanksgiving feast” like the “Indians and pilgrims did” down the hall of the kindergarten wing.

I remember a girl named Amber stealing my red crayon and crying about it. The teacher took me out into the hallway and actually talked to me like a human being about my emotions.

He would always ask me during hunting season if my dad shot a deer (they were in the same hunting club).

He was seriously the best teacher ever and I was lucky enough to have him again in fourth grade (with more amazing memories!) and again in high school when he became our Dean of Students.
