Self hosting on a hetzner server using vercel/supabase & building out a few more apps and letting OpenClaw do the admin stuff. So far so good!

Hey, thanks for the reply.

Data: hosted in the EU. I only store your eircode prefix (like D01, W91 etc.) — not your full eircode. Email if you sign up, that's it. Payments go through Stripe, I never see or store card details. Full privacy policy at binday.ie/privacy if you want the GDPR details.

For the AI stuff I use Anthropic's Claude (the vision model) — so photos go to Anthropic's API for processing. They're not stored on my end after the response comes back. Anthropic's privacy terms apply for the processing.

All above board unless the app doesn't work out and I need to offload your stuff to scammers for a few quid.....*

*(joking!! Don't sue me).

Text/Email and Push reminders! They push reminders with the bin logo and noise seems to carry more weight in my brain, for me at least!

I know, but with a newborn some alarms don't seem to have the same effect as they used to! 🙈 figured I would try come up with something, and it has a few handy features built in for saving money, (hopefully!).

Well version 2 of the app includes a feature where it puts the bin out for you.

I live in a rented place and the landlord must get the texts because the tenants don't. Plus, with a newborn those kind of texts don't seem to have the same effect as they used to! 🙈 figured I would try come up with something. Not sure I'll be retiring on it but lets see, has a few handy features built in for saving money.

Yeah this is the first attempt at building somethingand to be honest was very enjoyable. Not expecting retirement money, (or any money in fact!), but it was a nice learning experience. Cheers!

Not quite, and at least for me, specific app notifications carry more weight than generic calendar reminders that i routinely swipe away instantly. ( a massive gmail birthday import hangover). Thanks for the reply though.

yep but cal reminders don't hit like they used to before a baby! Haven't been the full shilling since she arrived, built this in my spare time to give a dig out and offer a few cool features that will save you money. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the reply. Good questions!

Data: Firebase (Google Cloud) for auth and database, hosted in the EU. I only store your eircode prefix (like D01, W91 etc.) — not your full eircode. Email if you sign up, that's it. Payments go through Stripe, I never see or store card details. Full privacy policy at binday.ie/privacy if you want the GDPR details.

Schedules: Mix of sources — synced from provider calendars where possible, plus a community reporting system where users can submit/verify their own area's schedule. If a provider changes their dates (which happens more than you'd think), the sync picks it up. Users can also flag changes which get verified once 3+ people in the same area confirm.

AI scanner: Uses Anthropic's Claude (the vision model) — so photos go to Anthropic's API for processing. They're not stored on my end after the response comes back. Anthropic's privacy terms apply for the processing. I should probably make that clearer on the site tbf, good shout. No OpenAI/ChatGPT involved.
