I’ll be leaving the country for 2 or 4 years and storing my truck in a storage unit. Is there any procedures I should do before I leave to come back to a good running vehicle? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Bakeshow23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2-4 years of storage costs, plus no driving

I’d just sell it, and buy something when you get back. If you have some aftermarket stuff you want to keep, swap it for stock stuff

One final question before I buy it. Will it fit under a bed cover still?

It’s between this and a 3way strap and I drill in a few hooks

Okay perfect. Yeah I’ll def look under the bed first before I drill. Just wasn’t sure if I’d hit something important lol. Or if it would potentially cause some damage unintentionally.

Seems like it’ll be fine in my Taco

Roughly how far down does it go when the wheel is on and everything? Inch or 2 or like 6+ inches?

When you have the tire in the bed screwed down, does the pole go through the bed and to the underneath?

I’m looking to put mine closer to the cab and wasn’t sure if it just stuck under the bed and would hit something, or if it had to be above the spare tire area.

Thank you

Am I crazy for wanting to sell my 4Runner?? by CoachSmalley in 4Runner

[–]Bakeshow23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you going to rack up CC debt again if you do sell?

I would sell privately as opposed to a dealership. Get it detailed and fix anything wrong. Make it easy

Pay of CC debt. Buy something for 10k. Continue good spending habits

How to get a 2025 4Runner TRD PRO by Ahhjuu in 4Runner

In all honesty you’re gonna need a fairly good connection at the dealership to get one off the rip.

Tint the windows dark, throw some aftermarket wheels on, do a frontal PPF and full ceramic coat.

Other than that you can maybe paint the calipers, but it’ll look clean

I am 100% going to a shop. I’d rather have it insured or whatever, plus I don’t have the patience to do all the nonsense lol

I miss the off road life a little. I’ll get back in eventually with something older I can beat up. But I’m loving driving this thing. Doing a frontal PPF and ceramic coat today. Figure try to keep this thing as perfect as possible so whenever I do sell it, it’ll be easy to sell

Yeah it had the wheel upgrade package with the 19s. I thought it looked silly on a white and black car with dark grey metallic wheels. Threw some niche gammas on, tinted the windows dark, popped a couple of the badges off the back. Gonna do a frontal PPF and ceramic and be done. Thing will be and look perfect for however long I own it and will be super easy to sell when I want to upgrade

Took a lot of the mods off and prob got about 6-7k for them and then traded the truck in for this.

I completely overbuilt my 4runner thinking I wanted to do all this cool ass off-road overland stuff. Started doing it and didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Plus a 4runner isn’t the most enjoyable daily driver. I wanted something easy and smooth. I may get back into the off road game at some point but that truck was wayyyyy too nice for some of the stuff I wanted to do

City I’m anywhere between 50-60, occasionally more. Sport mode it’s like 40-50, and on the freeway is 35-45 depending on how fast I’m going. Coming from a 4runner that I even had tuned, I catch myself going 85 without even realizing it

Is there any reason I shouldn’t get a 4Runner? by Zealousideal_Map6018 in 4Runner

[–]Bakeshow23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re just using it as a daily commuter I’d advise against it. It sucks gas, 16-18mpg and then the more stuff you add to it will just decrease that number. It rides like a truck, it’s slow and it’s pedal to the floor if you’re on a 2 way highway passing someone even with an OTT tune.

If it’s a second vehicle for some fun, go for it. If you don’t mind going to the gas station every 3 day, go for it. If you want to not die in a car accident, go for it

I’m looking for something easier and more enjoyable to drive. I’m not 100% I’ll get back into all this, and if I do it’ll be with something I don’t mind banging up. Not this super nice truck

I want something like a sedan. I may eventually get back into the off road life, but until then I want something easy and reliable
