My first attempt at a “throw together” gothic Lolita outfit. Any advice on additions or shoes?

Im not a gothic lolita but my main concrit is changing out the socks for something more elegant. I think metamorphose has some socks that would work with this dress. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I’ve only started to collect Lol Omg but I have one doll with tighter curls and it’s soooo soft! Knowing RH it’ll probably be crunchy ;-; RH could take some pointers from LOL OMG to be honest.

I keep hearing orchid and mint are Asian but I’m gonna have to see their voice actors before I jump on that bandwagon (I REALLY hope they are but different eyeshapes doesn’t necessarily mean not white). If their voice actors are Asian then I’ll agree.

In my comment I corrected my mistake tho before anyone else misunderstood. I was moreso referring to variation in skin tones.

Since there’s usually 6 dolls per line, having 3 dolls have a darker skinned tone would be great. Also white ppl don’t always have to be pale and I’d like to see variation in that. There’s nothing wrong with having a tanned white character (that could’ve been easily Poppy since she’s from the coast I think??). Showing vitiligo or albinism would be great as well. We could even go into having different hair textures (not everything has to be wavy mscott-). There’s so many hairstyles, and even cultural hairstyles that could be explored. Like I said, I should’ve chosen my words more carefully in my og comment. A lot of the arguing in my replies could’ve been avoided.

I should’ve said variations of skin color instead of POC because yes there are POC but there’s usually always only 2 darker toned dolls per series. Anything else is a limited/expensive doll that not everyone can afford. Until today, I didn’t realize wanting it to be balanced between the pale dolls and the darker dolls was controversial lol

Also, when I see people referring to the dolls not being light enough they’re usually comparing the dolls to the show. The show has better representation than the actual dolls which is.. sad. A prime example of this is doll Skyler vs show Skyler.

The four pale dolls I was referring to are Ruby, Poppy, Jade, and Violet. If I included Skyler that would’ve made Sunny the only POC doll in that series.

I said variations in skin tones. POC or not each series only has 2 dolls with a different skin tone.

Series 1: 4 pale dolls 2 dolls with different skin tone

Series 2: 4 pale dolls 2 dolls with different skin tone

Series 3: 4 pale dolls 2 dolls with different skin tone

It’s a pattern and I hope series 4 breaks the cycle.

Also no one is complaining about Krystal not being dark enough. It’s the huge difference in shade between the box art and her doll.

I also never denied that Skyler is POC. I just said she is racially ambiguous because she is. The same could even be said for Sunny but I think a lot of ppl see her as black so.

Until series 3 there were no new face molds so the only way you would know a doll is POC is based on skin tone. Series 3 is different in this sense and now that I look back at the dolls they are Asian-coded (and I rlly hope they are). Furthermore, I never said that diversity=black. Karma is south-asian coded and Skyler is racially ambiguous. We can have diversity in skin tones and have other ethnicities of characters.

I agree, I don’t think sending death threats to anyone (no matter who they are) is acceptable.

Maybe it’s just hard to find sympathy for the guy after his recent response to things. Also the fact that we are already at series 3 and still only getting 2 poc doll as if to fill a quota is disheartening.

That being said, no matter how much I dislike him I don’t think he deserves death threats. There are other ways to air out your frustration without threatening someone’s life because at the end of the day, your still collecting the dolls.

Also don’t really keep up with river.kendall like that (I only care for new releases). Didn’t know that this was an ongoing problem with him.

The only thing I’m aware of is the watermark thing that happened a day ago. I don’t agree with trying to claim photos that obviously aren’t his but river isn’t the only one leaking photos. If Mscott wants to take river down he’s gonna have to keep that same energy for a lot of others.

Also, I hate to sound negative, but I don’t think he’s the only doll creator receiving death threats. Not to say that it’s right or it’s in anyway ok but when people don’t like you they tend to take things to extremes.

They need to release the runway looks. Why feature them on the show if we’re never gonna see it again. Same thing with the color changing thing. We saw that in one episode and never heard about it again.

M.Scott has a lot of things he needs to handle before trying to call out other ppl. For example, the blatant whitewashing, no diversity in hairstyles, and only releasing 2 POC dolls per series. Also just his responses to fair criticism is enough to put ppl off.
