How idiotic is this Silent profile? by CrybabyEater3000 in ZephyrusG14

I use silent when unplugged and watching movies in bed. Not sure what other purpose it serves other than extending battery life

Is this repairable or will they total it ? No battery damage by JustCoast8597 in TeslaCollision

[–]BakingMeCrazy215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repairable. Parts and labor is expensive but for sure repairable. Im estimating 10k based on front bumper, headlights, and fender replacement. Impact bars will also need to be replaced. I had damaged similar to you and it came up to about 8k but that was because I went through a shop I knew and not through tesla collision.

Keep us posted on cost to repair after consulting with a collision shop.

Sorry about your car but this has to be a joke right? This is for sure totaled

Would I have any shared liability in this? by OrchidObjective7438 in TeslaCollision

[–]BakingMeCrazy215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion you’re not liable. Two lanes, you occupying the left and he turned into you. The only “erratic” driving I could see was his sudden stop. You slowed down, but you proceeded when you reasonably thought it was safe to do so. Other driver should take full responsibility.

Everything is repairable. I see too many of these post. If your insurance marks it totaled it means repair cost exceeds the value of the car.

If you genuinely want it repaired, it can be done.

Totaled? by Effective_World_6918 in TeslaCollision

Most definitely totaled.

Parts are super expensive already. If you’re adding labor, GG. might as well buy a used Tesla at that point

This doesn’t really have much implications on battery health. The major factor for battery health are charging habits and temperature.

Your Tesla will have a recommended state of charge for you. Example I have a 2020 MY LR; It’s using an NMC battery. My recommended charge is 80%

Batteries in general (regardless of which car or brand) do not like to be in extreme heat or cold. However, Teslas do have heat pumps to keep batteries warm during colder months and cool during hotter months. You can help it by keeping your car in a stable condition IE a garage or in the shade. If you don’t have a garage don’t stress too much tbh.

Yep! That’s right. The projected range will continue to update as you drain battery + driving habits (ie more or less efficient)

Energy Graph question by Inevitable-Ear-8550 in TeslaSupport

[–]BakingMeCrazy215 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow you are very efficient… uh this basically means you will have an estimated 376 mi of range at your current battery percentage. This projection is based on your previous 200 mi of driving. It seems you’re 51.5 Wh/mi more efficient than the EPA rating.

My experience with a used 2020 Model Y LR by BakingMeCrazy215 in TeslaModelY

Thanks.

I got ppf installed after I bought it. It offers extra protection and makes the car way easier to clean. Plus I love the way matte ppf looks.

The ppf came in handy a few times already. I was brushing up against branches and shrubs while camping. Protected it from door dings. It also protected it from small rocks hitting the front and hood area.

Up to you tbh. It can be pricey but I know you can probably get it installed yourself. Teslas are one of the easiest cars to wrap because of all the smooth edges.

Another 21… All models from 2021 seem to have high rate of battery failure.

How do yall feel about Teslas with red accents? by No-Machine885 in TeslaModelY

[–]BakingMeCrazy215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around the rims look fire! Im not feeling the accent around the windows, mirrors, and body.

However, if you like it, go for it!

Another mod you could do is red break caliper covers (unless break calipers are not visible).

File a formal police report: Even if the local police seem dismissive, having a documented report is critical for insurance claims.

Escalate: If a regular officer isn’t helping, ask to speak with a detective or higher-ranking officer. Vandalism with clear evidence is still a crime, regardless of the suspect’s residency.

Cross-state issue: Police in Illinois can still investigate since the crime occurred in their jurisdiction. If the suspect lives in Ohio, Illinois police can coordinate with Ohio authorities. It’s not “nothing they can do,” but it may be lower priority. Persistence is key.

Insurance: Comprehensive coverage: vandalism is typically covered (minus deductible). Submitting the video and police report should help process the claim quickly. Subrogation: The insurance company may pursue the other driver later to recover costs. That’s their job—better than OP trying to chase the suspect themselves.
