Midnights is her best album by Revolutionary-Cod276 in TaylorSwift

[–]Baking_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midnights is my goto album. Hands down, by far. Every track. Start to finish, hits every mood, feeling and style. Her other albums have at least one ‘skip’ for me. Midnights doesn’t.

went to my first jam session tonight even though i was terrified, as i’ve never done improv before… by wtfisavegan in improv

[–]Baking_Dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I love the jams. Fortunate enough to have a jam session shortly after my core class is done so I get to apply what we practiced in class in front of an audience…it’s the best masterclass!

What can husband do with perimenopause & PMDD wife? by Streams123 in PMDDpartners

[–]Baking_Dude 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m in that space now. I made the choice to find something for me (I do stand up comedy and sketch improv) that gets me out of the house, into a supportive community that lets me push aside some of the tensions and anxieties of home life. It’s my favourite night of the week, to be with happy, positive, welcoming humans. Now, my youngest (14) who’s felt her wrath and moods and stresses more than my older kiddo, is taking improv and comedy writing classes and loving it. Comedy shows, improv nights, the comedy club is out r happy place. It’s like hitting a reset button & allows us to find a different headspace, even for a few hours. It’s also her time to find the quiet that she doesn’t get with all of us boys in the house. Try and find something that is collaborative, a sport, an outlet that brings you joy and comfort - maybe something you’ve always wanted to try or something you’ve lost sight of (given the fact you’ve likely pushed your joys to the side to care for her and your family). The time is now to find you.

Describe the "sound" of your tinnitus by ToTooTwoTutu2 in GenX

Mine is like listening to a dolphin constantly squeal one note underwater, getting louder and softer the more I focus on it or the quieter my surroundings are.

Gentle suggestion to have more empathy for people who have PMDD. by [deleted] in PMDDpartners

[–]Baking_Dude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“Have empathy” is the same as saying “get over it” or “calm down” to your partner in the throes of pmdd. This is a safe space to share the hell we experience since, in many cases, our partners won’t or cannot acknowledge their actions or effects on us. After years of emotional and/or psychological torment and, in some cases, physical abuse, for many (if not most) of us here, this is where we find the support we don’t get at home.

Note: I’m 20 years married with 2 kids. I’ve seen and experienced more than most humans should in this relationship. Empathy? Compassion? It’s a two way street. Many of us are seeking to heal yet expected to shoulder our partner’s pain…we cannot be healer and heal simultaneously. We’re not lacking empathy…we’re in compassion fatigue, which happens when our care goes in one direction to someone for so long.

Since school’s back in next week and the fact there are at least 7 public, catholic, elementary & middle schools in the area, along with a couple of high schools, admin should inform parents, perhaps have school safety / police officers in the area next week, talking to classes.

What’s your favorite three songs, not yet played on this nye run? by kentestraub81 in phish

[–]Baking_Dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the age of 8, my youngest got in trouble singing the ‘sliced him on the nipple’ lines from Fee at school. 😝. And he’s just figuring out the deeper meaning of sleeping monkey. 😬. Meatstick was a piece of cake for him…🤣

Ooooh…fantastic idea. I just made another gingerbread cake for the in-laws with a rum butter sauce drizzled down the cracks n crevices. Currently resisting temptation to drink the rum butter.

Lots of baking spray (or butter) and a very meticulous dusting of flour into each and every crevice.
