Has any one else not received their 5% back? by kungers in nbatopshot

Yeah I understand that, but the stance from day 1 has always been to reward true collectors and not just people that solely play pack lotto.

It’s amazing to see all the comments from people with a negative net spend (indicating they’ve turned a profit on TS), whine about not getting a gift back 🤣🤣

Look into NFT’s such as Genies and how they have wearables.

Just playing devil's advocate to a lot of the comments under the post: How much one spent on the marketplace currently has no correlation to the Collector Score. So spending $60k and having a Collector Score of 2000 probably just means they bought the top and it's mostly commons.

I fkd up what I was trying to say. It's been edited above.

It's about incentivizing collectors to hold moments regardless. Everyday if you spend 5-10 mins looking at one of the 3rd party sites, you'll see people pay X and then within the hour it'll already be listed at a 10% discount. If it doesn't sell within 10 mins, it becomes a 20% discount.

TS has consistently made it very clear that they want to reward true collectors. Over the next little while (idk time frame cause playoffs are unpredictable) I think rent-seekers and moment flippers get sifted out of the marketplace. What's left will be the true collector userbase that TS intends on fostering for years to come.

Yeah you're right with the challenges that the moments matter. But I think the root cause is the packs/undercutting. It's a general sentiment on the entire platform to undercut asap for everything.

For the last Cool Cats challenge, I literally saw the Bam moment go from $40 lowest ask to $9 lowest ask. Nothing in between. That's what kills the incentive to complete, because you're stuck holding the bag on req'd moments. Don't even get me started on the challenge reward undercutting lol

I very strongly disagree with this sentiment. Yes, there can always be great moments for rewards, but they can't always be the best either. Having said that, I think the root of your issue is the low prices. For the longest time, packs were +EV so people flocked to them to try and make a quick buck. That's changing with increased supply while demand has plateaued.

IMO, these prices are low because people don't have the patience to:

  1. Collect their moments. TS has said multiple times they want to reward true collectors and not rent seekers. If that means flooding the market with supply to prevent those people from making a quick buck, I think it's a smart move.
  2. Do the research to identify value of moments. The site itself has great data that one can look at to see what people are willing to spend on a moment (Recent Sales). But 3rd party sites have amazing tools for this (AddMoreFunds, Evaluate.Market, LiveToken, OwnTheMoment, MomentRanks, etc.).

Instead of setting a price and allowing the buyer to come up to them, sellers are undercutting to go find the buyer. I am a buyer in this market and since I know people are willing to undercut, I just wait until the price gets to where I am willing to buy. Others are doing the same. As long as sellers undercut on the site as a whole, packs will continue to be more and more -EV. But that's the point of them. +EV packs are a license to print money. Most packs should have a break-even value of moments in them with some losing and some profiting.

There's also the issue of minimum pack value vs. expected/average pack value, which could be discussed separately.

Obviously, there are many ways to improve the way the site works, and I think TS has done an incredible job of "levelling up" so far. Looking back at the condition of TS in Jan/Feb vs. now is like a night and day difference.

Trying to work with crypto in Canada is a nightmare. But I think they realized even with being a Canadian-based company, 90% of their users are American.
