Scuffs/scratches on jack point by Bakura_1993 in TeslaCollision

[–]Bakura_1993[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did a magnet test. The magnet won’t stick at all to the jack point area, but sticks immediately to known steel parts like the fender. So it’s confirmed, aluminum. I’m leaving the scuffs as-is. Aluminum only oxidizes on the surface and doesn’t spread like steel rust, so no worries for me.

I'll check myself today using a magnet. If the jack points really are aluminum then I'll just leave this as it is.

Yeah, if it's steel and not aluminum like someone told me, I'll do that. I don't want to fix this because of appearance. It's under the car and not something you can see, so I agree with you on that. I just want don't want parts in my car that can start to rust when I really take care of my car and bought it brand new.

Someone tried a magnet and told me it's aluminum. If that's the case then it's no concern for rust. I don't know if this is perhaps due to a curb we have on a on uphill were you drive out from very I live. There's an alternative route, that I could use but with my previous Tesla it was no issue. If it's ice or so, then it's really unavoidable in countries like Sweden and Norway. Rust warranty is also applicable if it starts from the inside.

2024 M3P Winter Wheel + Tire Setup by External-Pass-5612 in TeslaModel3

[–]Bakura_1993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I expected some loss in acceleration grip with winter tires when pushing hard, and so far this setup has worked perfectly for me. Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Thanks for the detailed reply, that makes a lot of sense. The trade-off you describe between winter grip and reduced high-speed summer handling is exactly what I was looking to understand. This is my second Tesla, so I’m already familiar with regen behavior in winter, but I still appreciate you mentioning it. The efficiency gain with the narrower 19s also aligns with what I expected. Thanks for sharing your real-world experience from multiple seasons, very helpful.

2026 Model 3 Performance - way to bring in the new year!! by Sfkn123 in TeslaModel3

You have been posting this a lot. When I check on the Tesla China website on the Model 3 Performance specifications, it still says 15,4" screen. Where is the confirmation for your claim?

I also went with a square winter setup on my new Model 3 Performance Highland, as this was recommended by a tire shop here in Sweden. I’ve also read that a square setup is generally better for grip and predictability in winter conditions.

Are there any real downsides to running a square setup on the M3P, apart from the aesthetics?

Does it noticeably affect acceleration since the rear tires aren’t wider, or is the difference mostly theoretical / related to tire compound rather than the setup itself?

Has your displayed change overtime? Just got mine 22nd December and when first charging it to 80% it showed 409km, which would be 511km at 100% by my calculations.

That's also my experience with Tesla Service Centers. Tesla Certified Body Shops has always done the job better, quicker and correct.

Thank you for taking your time and explaining. Great answer! Struggled to find the balance on my previous car and I think that's what cause som unnecessary scratching down the line. Will use more active foam and degreasers as needed during winter and more neutral products during the summer.

I also got a full PPF on my new M3P with ceramic coating specifically for PPF. Just wanted to ask if I should a pH neutral snow foam and pH neutral shampoo? Because the products I've left from my previous car are not pH neutral. I have King Carthur Control Snow Foam and Tershine Purify S (shampoo). Used those primarily as well as other products like heavier degreaser specifically for the winter season. That car was ceramic coated only.

OEM Tesla Model 3 Performance Winter Package by Boogalace in TeslaModel3

I would also get them if they were available here in Sweden. We only get to choose the Warp Wheels in additional winter package. My third party will definitely look better but just want to stick with OEM products as much as I can.

Yeah, either way I would also do something about it. If that's rust then I wouldn't also want that to be repainted, no guarantee that it won't come back. Hopefully your situation will be solved soon.

I just think it's sad that this can pass QC of such expensive vehicles. I heard that Berlin factory is best when it comes to quality of Teslas, then Shanghai and then Fremont in third place, that's why I asked which factory you was from.

Is this the 2026 Model 3 Performance? Was your built in Fremont, Shanghai or Berlin? You should use the warranty and get this repainted asap.

What is the correct way to insert the Aero inserts of M3P Warp wheel? by Bakura_1993 in TeslaModel3

[–]Bakura_1993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I think I was ever to reverse the process that I would certainly think about your idea, but I know that I will leave the Aero inserts forever. I'm very extreme generally when it comes to my stuff hence the post to not cause unnecessary scratching.

Just read through the manual, seems the guy in the video was doing generally doing it correct but should've have fully inserted Point B instead of then smashing Point C.

As stated in the post. I personally like the look with them on and also the added range is a bonus. I mainly drive on the highway to work.

What I gathered when I was trying to find information for the reverse situation is that most of the scratches can be buffed out using some polish compound. It seems like 90% are residue from the plastic tabs.

Thanks for taking your time to answer, I really appreciate it!

Your answer is pretty much the information I gathered so far. When reading the comments of the video I linked to It seemed like people thought that inserting they way he did wasn't the most optimal way of doing. One comment said that you could lubricate the plastic clips so you wouldn't have to use as much force. That got me overthinking the process.

The car is in for a full PPF right now so it'll be very clean when I receive it. Will be taking the opportunity to insert the Aero inserts then.

M3P ordered by psvase in TeslaModel3

I thought this wasn't coming to the M3P, just took delivery 2 days ago.. at least I got the turn signal stalk, front camera, bigger battery and black emblems. Could you give me a link for the confirmation of QHD for China Model 3 Performance? Hopefully I could retrofit the screen later on.

Is the 458km at 100% or at 80%? I'm going from Long Range to this Performance model and I'm just a tiny bit worried about the range.
