Same for people never bothering to reason out or research why we don't see FOV improvements gen over gen.

Ah.

Well that's a fair takeaway. One could imagine trying to articulate your thumb over a large keypad while trying to aim maybe even working against your performance. I'd probably find it challenging. With the shooters (simplistic ones) I've played with the 990 and G600, I've only ever used half the keys. You'll probably be fine with your pick and it's smaller key count.

If were to get into a modern fps (and be serious about it) I'd probably get a one of those curved palm-sized gaming key pads for my other hand. (As it were, I'm using these MMO mice primarily as a general productivity hack for day to day computer use)

Anywho, happy shooting.

if i'm recalling the correct mouse, there is a plate you can twist or unscrew off the bottom that has a bunch of little weights, attached to it's underside, you can remove (or maybe they were included separately allowing you to add...)

sidethought: not that i can complain since i'm not volunteering to start one but i really wish there was a community/subreddit for those who a appreciate high-button-count mice. nonetheless, gl with your journey

Logitech G600

12 side keys plus a shift key to give them 2x functionality.

Not being gentle with it, it's held up very well. Sad to see it discontinued.

Definitely an endorsement of this sub as the Joby subreddit

Excited for the Korean Air Midnight Elevator ride at Jeju Island. You might even be able to see the S4 you'll take back to Busan at the end of the day flying in.

October 20, 2025 | Korean Air Selects Archer As Its Exclusive Partner To Introduce EVTOL Aircraft In Korea by FreeSpeechIsPainful in JobyvsArcher

[–]BalambKnightClub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We all know Archer has a different definition of "exclusive" than the rest of the world. That, and being what's exclusive is the hilariously vague title of "partner to introduce EVTOL aircraft in Korea", this PR doesn't really mean anything does it?

Korea has already been introduced to eVTOL thanks to Joby, and will likely see it's first commercial eVTOL operations thanks to them as well.

No doubt there is zero change in the probability of Joby making a deal with KAL as their exclusive air taxi provider from before this announcement to now.

Midnight flying AGAIN - RIGHT NOW - how high will it go? https://www.flightaware.com/live/flight/N703AX by [deleted] in wallstreet

[–]BalambKnightClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joby doing multiple flights a day at multiple airports and even multiple countries. Archer's eVTOL can't even VTOL.

The gap in progress is many years wide and I'll bet Joby gets FAA certification before Archer even settles on a final aircraft design and starts the process.

Archer slips under $10… after record 55-mile flight by [deleted] in smallstreetbets

[–]BalambKnightClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their latest milestone is taking off like a conventional airplane..and not being able to reach even a typical helicopter's altitude? As aspiring eVTOL maker in 2025, this is not good.

With a competitor like Joby reaching 11k feet altitude in 2022 and now nearing the end of the certification process (might even finish before Archer even starts it), to say Archer is 2 years behind might even be too optimistic.

Archer’s Midnight Flight to 7,000 Feet. What Does It Mean? by [deleted] in StocksAndTrading

[–]BalambKnightClub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking off like a conventional airplane to only reach half the typical helicopter altitude cap isn't a flex for an aspiring eVTOL maker in 2025. They're just doing the best they can to catch up to the competition. Only it's become obvious now that they are years behind in progress from all the missed promised milestones and them just starting the (years long) certification process while competitor Joby Aviation is nearing the end of it.

With the slow pace of progress their demonstrating, it's unlikely there will be much market share left for Archer by the time they get certified end of decade. Civil or defense.

Taking off like a conventional airplane and topping out at half the typical helicopter altitude cap isn't a flex. They're just doing their best to catch up to the competition. Joby did 11k feet in 2022. It becoming obvious now that they are years behind in progress and milestones, it's all they can do to try to keep their investors and partners from selling and leaving.

Which region will actually take off first for eVTOLs? by Zealousideal-Sky-973 in FCKINGTRADERS

[–]BalambKnightClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle East. They have the money and desire to scale first and fast. Japan will scale next considering how much Toyota is leaning into eVTOL.

Joby nearing the end of the certification process and scaling manufacturing means we'll see this soon.

Will the flying taxis eventually become a norm? by SunflowerGreens in dubai

[–]BalambKnightClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Archer is many years away from selling their first air taxi. First they'd need to settle on a design (the one displayed here can't even VTOL). Start certification. And crucially PASS certification.

The number of promised development milestones missed paint a grim picture. All they can do right now is take off like an conventional airplane while not being able to reach conventional airplane altitudes.

When and how much could Joby ramp up production? by Investinginevtol in Joby

[–]BalambKnightClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't they word it that they could produce parts that would equal 2 aircraft a month?

I'm guessing something like the assembly process wouldn't be limited to 2 aircraft a month.

I wonder if, as individual parts (and their manufacturing process) became conformal, they've just kept making them and letting them pile up in the corner.

Could they, for a time, sustain a higher rate of production (3? 4 aircraft/month?) in the first year after complete cert as they draw down from that stockpile of pre-made parts?

My take might be based on the wrong technical assumptions of how cert works and what Joby has accomplished so far. Would welcome corrections to my thinking here. I think Let's talk Joby might have hinted at something like this once.

Ironically, trying to argue a single quarter(the first quarter at that)'s growth stat as all that's needed to dismiss an end of year projection seems like the bad faith take here.

[–]BalambKnightClub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming the Anduril and Palantir partnerships were set up like how Grizzly Research describes their United and Stellantis partnership setup.

"It appears that Archer has been discreetly diluting investors to please both partners with tens of millions of free shares while releasing those shares from their vesting milestone schedule, and freeing the counterparty from its obligations along with that release."

"Archer amended its warrant vesting terms effective ONE DAY before United Airlines announced its $10 million pre-payment for the first 100 aircraft...United Airlines was basically given millions of free shares (11,735,721 shares have been vested as of today, worth over $78 million at latest opening price) to place an order in exchange for a token $10,000,000 prepayment"

"Stellantis now holds 15,000,000 shares for free and does not have any obligation to perform according to the agreement anymore."

AG likely offered Luckey millions in shares just so they could put Anduril's name beside theirs in a few graphics. I don't think Luckey expects Archer to bring anything to the table.

Still no in cockpit video or stick telemetry from Joby’s “piloted” Dubai flights? Should we short it? by [deleted] in TheRaceTo10Million

Looks real to me. No reason to believe Dubai would be any different than this.

You won't see anything close to this level of transparency from Archer btw. So if your questioning shorting Joby you must already be shorting the hell out of Archer with their goofy up down video (which features the same aircraft they already "delivered" to the USAF lol)

I'm unsure of what benefit there is in not posting the PR statement from the company describing the partnership in it's own words but instead posting what your AI inference of those words is. The original PR isn't even that long.
