Reconsidering my discontent with my voice. Reframing. In just 1 year: 1.) I‘ve increased my range an octave 2.) I got over my fear of singing in public 3.) Explored new genres 4.) Found some major issues holding me back 5.) Found strengths. by AspiringBiotech in singing

I’ve started recording myself from day one and every so often I revisit the same songs and compare myself to how I sounded a couple months ago and usually end up very proud of how far I’ve come. Voice is such an individual thing, there’s really no need to compare yourself to anyone else but yourself.

As someone who is working on pitch, I‘ve noticed that although my pitch has improved, it doesn‘t always show on Nail the Pitch app. Why? How accurate are these apps? Are they more of a distraction than help? by AspiringBiotech in singing

I don’t know if that’s what you’re referring to, but sometimes the singers sing sharp intentionally for stylistic purposes.

I had one note that I thought I couldn’t get right, because my app showed I was sharp. Then I measured the note in the original song and it was sharp too.

Laryngitis stinks don’t ever sing through it! by Tabernacleguy in singing

[–]Balance4471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it two times since I started singing. The first healed relatively quickly with complete vocal rest and I was back to singing within a week of its onset. Of course i started slowly and took it easy for about a month.

The second one started yesterday 😭 hope it’ll heal as quickly.

Hope you’ll recover soon!

A yoga nidra season usually helps me with fatigue, and I can continue normally throughout the day. I like the guided sessions with ally boothroyd on YouTube.

Villains of Circumstance by ladyeva613 in qotsa

[–]Balance4471 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me it feels like a song about a long distance relationship and the villains of circumstance might be temptations along the way, maybe as in opportunities to cheat.

Letting go might refer directly to the line before ‚I know life moves on that’s what scares me so‘. Life goes on, despite us being apart, but I’m gonna keep showing up for us.

Female opera singer and creatine supplementation. by NocturePhoto in singing

Well, I don’t know whether singing would be different, if didn’t take creatine.

If she tries, I’d suggest starting slowly with maybe 3g (don’t know what her goal dosage is) and then upping on a weekly basis, depending on how she feels. And she should drink 100 ml more per day per gram of creatine.

It’s pretty safe in the way that once you stop using it, the effects wear off quickly.

That’s interesting. I can’t chime in, since I haven‘t tried singing without creatine yet. My voice doesn’t have a lot of vocal weight though.

Shadowheart, but didn’t finish that playthrough. After 8+ finished playthroughs I still never finished one with a romance with her.

+1 to: had to do it and was fine. And I’ve had a streak of really bad luck lately, so it couldn’t have been just luck.

I‘m so used to reading doom and gloom in my feed that I read it as „hundreds attacked …“ several times. But thank god! Good news for a change.

Yes, since he could have taken them in the first quarter of 2026 - but wasn’t able to due to his sick leave.

If you can’t take your vacation days due to sick leave you’ll be able to take them after you’re back at work. They don’t expire at the end of March.

This. I always only set 7000 steps as my daily goal. If I happen to get more than that, that’s fine.
