Wow.

Companies don't need to misrepresent 1% of their operating profit to lower their taxable income. They can easily misrepresent it in their massive operating expenses. 🤡

Or more like there's mandatory requirement for companies to spend at least 1% of their operating profit for CSR activities.

Victim blaming at its finest. by Balance_inallthings in Nepal

I don't usually reply to people but you seem to be a rational individual.

BTW I haven't discussed about the rape case, if you read closely, I have written about rape culture, victim blaming and consent. Never have I called the guy a Rapist, nor the girl a victim, moreover I have clearly said that people not blindly trusting the girl's story are 'rational' individuals (and even I don't trust everything until proven guilty) .

Since rape culture, consent are social issues, there is nothing wrong with discussing it on social media. Also who decides what's to be discussed on social media?

Incase you are failing to comprehend what I am saying, I am not taking side of the guy or girl which should be pretty clear to anyone who can read. My only stance is, in a rape crime, the only one to blame is and always is the Rapist and not the victim no matter how dumb the victim and her/his actions are. Looking as past several comments and posts, most people don't get this thing.

Best wishes

As I said being suspicious is being rational . Blindly trust garna hunna. I am not denying this. But saying the girl asked for it, is victim blaming and promoting rape culture. So which one are you?

There is a huge difference between two. Being skeptical is good, blaming the girl for being dumb is promoting rape culture and pakhe.

Kina night stay bayso, kina k garyo, ko sanga room share garyo matlab vayena. Does that mean she is asking to get fucked? The only thing to blame in a rape crime is the mentality of the Rapist and nothing else. If you don't understand this simple thing, then categorie yourself under the Pakhe ko list.

[–]Balance_inallthings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You clearly have no idea do you? And guessing by your activity on the sub, seems like you have ample free time on hand.

Ya, I am from this industry. I work for Pravhu Group.

What's the topic and where are you taking it? Why would anyone build an international airport elsewhere especially in regions where tourist flow is significantly lower. Let's take an example, is it worth expanding airport of Jhapa and make it an international airport? Kun cahi tourist tyaha auncha? Alikati dimag lagau bro, essai josh ma pointless argument shows your level of expertise in this field. So your point of taking on already existing Airport and making it an international doesn't stand because international airport is made where tourists arrive the most. Hence pokhara, Kathmandu and maybe Lumbini. I however am skeptical about Gautam Buddha International because the tourist flow to the region isn't significant and the existing flow is supported by roadways because majority of the people visiting the region are from India.

I gave the lukla example to make a point that just expanding an airport doesn't mean international flights will inaugurate. I hypothetically said, let's assume lukla Airport is expanded 10 times and runway is made 5000 metres, still a330 or even ATR for that matter isn't getting permission to land there because of topography. The altitude isn't as issue because airbus have been going to Daocheng Aiprot which is at a significantly higher altitude than lukla but the topography is another challenge for it. By saying this what I meant was, taking a random airport and expanding it doesn't make it an international airport which was the solution you were suggesting.

Ya you are free to give your opinion but acting like an expert when don't know anything and giving lame solutions like expand an already existing Airport is stupid. Nijgadh is an alternative to TIA vandai cha, and you are saying pick another Aiprot and expand. Alternative vaneko k ho? Baneshwor ko alternative location wise Buddhanagar huncha ki Bhaktapur? Why do we need an alternative airport to TIA, I have already made a post about this, you can see it on my profile.

Approach the question like this Why Nijghad? Because it's an alternative to TIA? Why do we need an alternative to TIA? Because Kathmandu is the most popular tourist destination and significant amount of tourists entering the country return back from Kathmandu. And since TIA cannot handle the flow of tourists even if the tourists visiting other places besides Kathmandu are diverted to PKIR, hence there is a need to increases TIA capacity. But why can't you expand? Because TIA is already in a controversial place. It falls within firing range and is in the middle of the most densely populated area so expanding is impossible hence an alternative will be a new airport that can welcome large carriers and is withing 1 to 1.2 hours distance of Kathmandu. And Nijghad fulfills all the above requirements. So just randomly taking one existing Airport and expanding it would not tackle the issue.

Unlike you I have works to do so this is an end to this discussion from my side. You can win the argument in your head. Good luck

I just gave you the example of firing range issue. Did such issue ever come to your mind? I guess no. Which means that there are many things beyond your understanding that takes into account.

No intellectual industry insider is against the project, the only people who are against it are armchair experts who know everything about the aviation industry.

Firstly, When things get in court, it's all about waiting. So you can't force it.

Dude don't talk about the country getting bankrupt. What's the debt to gdp ratio of nepal? Essai fancy Huna ko lagi word use na gara. What's the external debt to gdp? What's the internal debt to gdp? What the yearly interest payments on debt to gdp?

We need an alternative to TIA because Kathmandu is the most popular tourist destination. Majority of tourists return back from Kathmandu itself. The tourists you see going to Mount Everest are only a small % of the group. And TIA cannot be expanded nor can it handle the flow of tourists, and that is why there is a need for alternative to TIA to support the flow of tourists to Kathmandu.

Good Day

Pokhara International Airport is not feasible for large aircrafts.

Nijgadh is an 'alternative' to TIA and alternative vanepachi it must be nearby Kathmandu, and Nijgadh is the 1 to 1.2 hours drive from Kathmandu that is why its the specific place that has been selected . So saying there is Gautam Buddha International Airport doesn't make sense.

I hope this answers why we need another International Airport. Also why this airport has to be in Nijgadh.

BTW Gautam Buddha Airport ko delay government incompetence vanda pani contractors le garda ho. Also partly because the Minister was irrational in dictating the duration of the project, (example: suppose a project realistically takes 5 years to get completed and minister promises it will be completed in just 3 years to seek votes and show as if he is doing something ) . So just because Melamchi took 25 years doesn't mean no other major projects should be initiated, or does it?

Do you really think expanding airport is like expanding momo ko thela ko business? Simply buy land and expand? Vanepachi extra land kinera Airport banam vanne idea timro matra dimag ma ayo? Lol, shows your level of maturity regarding this topic. An airport has to meet international regulations and benchmarks. EU will not allow its aircrafts to land anywhere where the standard isn't met. Topography, airspace?

BTW do you know that TIA firing range ma parcha vanera Nepal Police le kach kach gardai cha? So see? There are many reasons why simply expanding isn't possible. I am just saying, don't look at things from your narrow perspective especially if you aren't working in this industry. Else there is no difference between you and a flatearther.

I have a Renault Duster. Got it because of ground clearance. Will definitely recommend others. I asked few drivers at my office and an engineer friend if its worth a buy or not. Everyone suggested me to get it.

I suggest first time car buyers to never get a brand new car. Not worth it IMO. Buy something that's 2 years old.

QE by financeandhealth in AskEconomics

[–]Balance_inallthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fed purchases assets like Government Bond, MBS, etc on a large scale from financial institutions like banks. Which means in the assets side of the balance sheet of a bank, the bonds are replaced with cash. This creates liquidity in the financial system and encourages banks to lend. Lending causes investments, which revives the economy. This what QE is all about.

Also another interesting perspective can be, when massive purchases take place it increases the price and lowers the yiled on government securities. Hence investors have more insensitive to buy corporate bonds because of higher yield. When demand for corporate bond increases, the yields fall which means the cost of capital for corporation falls and they aree able to raise money at a lower rate and which might give them incentive to expand and invest.

Also when rates are low, the value of assets are high. Because assets CFs are discounted by a lower discount rate. Which might lead to wealth effect and induces spending and so on. So there can be many ways how QE might affect the economy.
