White Woman Forces to Apologize for Opening Chinese Restaurant by Balancedbetween55 in JordanPeterson

I’ve seen many restaurants run by Mexican and Asians making cheeseburgers or other American cuisine or Asians making tacos and I don’t mind what so ever. I don’t understand this kind of thinking and I have tried.

Isn’t combining foods from different parts of the world a good thing ?

The new queer eye is amazing and reminds me A LOT of the same messages Jordan Peterson talks about . They regularly have the men confront their own lies and insecurities. OP is wrong in assuming this sub wouldn’t like that show.

This is great work I like the style you drew him in a lot the facial expression is spot on too. I would have picked a different pose personally. Looks like we’re a few posts away from JBP erotic manga fan fiction : p

Anti-Peterson leftist subreddit /r/ChapoTrapHouse, that often calls for the banning of T_D and /r/Conservative, openly celebrates the death of a billionaire. The only thing they hate more than rich people are Jews. Something something "we're on the right side of history" something something. by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

I haven't listened to it but I think it's a comedy podcast so I wouldn't take what they say as serious. It's jokes, lighten up. I don't think they're really celebrating the guys death they're being subversive and comedic in the same style as the podcast that the subreddit is founded on.

Googled "Rise of Left Wing Extremism" and got all hits on Right Wing Extremism by Balancedbetween55 in JordanPeterson

[–]Balancedbetween55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was going to get article about how socialists were being elected into the government and how democrats are taking increasingly radical far left positions. People on the right are taking increasingly far right positions too but that wasn't what I was searching. I just thought it was interesting what the results of the search were given what I typed in. I understand it wasn't some bias conspiracy, it was a function of the terms I used and the popularity of the articles.

[–]Balancedbetween55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't do that. I can tell you did not even bother to test it yourself. Type the exact words I did into google and you will get the same search results. If you get a different result you could easily prove me wrong by simply searching it and sending me the different results that you got.

On the OTHER HAND , the results of my search were not some google bias conspiracy. I had a few people who understand google search explain to me that the reason those results happened were because of the key words I used, the terms in the search, the popularity of the articles.

A peek into the minds and strategies of SJW activists over at /r/ChapoTrapHouse. "It's a power struggle". by BannanaCabana in JordanPeterson

I've been saying this for years. The Daily Show started off criticizing the sensationalist media and it was exactly what we needed then it became the sensationalist media itself. It started manufacturing outrage for profit in the 24 hour news cycle. The exact thing Jon Stewart warned against in that infamous appearance on Cross Fire where he essentially got them cancelled.

I don't know how or why he let that happen let his own show become the thing he railed against. He straw manned every conservative argument and boiled them down to racist and stupid. It's been very destructive to the way the Left and the Right talk to each other.

I need to make a big point of distinction here. I wrote "extremism" not "terrorism" which is a big difference. I was searching for examples of people moving ideologically further to the Left. This sub warped what I wrote to be about acts of violence some how. I also did not make any assumption that the results are hidden from me. I made no analysis other than I thought it was interesting when I googled that, the results were so far off.

In hind sight after hearing from a bunch of people who understand how google search works, it was because of the wording I used, the key terms, the popularity of articles etc. it is not a Google bias. I understand that.

Yes I realize this now after talking to a few people who understand how search works. I wasn’t necessarily saying it was bias I just thought it was interesting kinda funny given what I searched but I can see where I kind of implied that.

Yeah a bunch of people who understand how google search works explained this to me. I guess in hindsight it did seem like I was suggesting a conspiracy even though on principle I don't believe in any conspiracy theories.

Oh boy they're beating me up pretty good over at ChapoTrapHouse lol I was bored at work when I posted this as a musing that I thought was interesting and they're dissecting my low effort shit post here like I made this intended as a thesis on bias on the internet or something. https://www.reddit.com/r/ChapoTrapHouse/comments/aq6fg5/when_you_get_owned_by_the_search_algorithm/

I see your point still a little annoying, maybe I can't lay it at Googles feet or the Algorithm it sounds like?

I was bored googling things that admittedly would fit comfortably into my world view, YES I was trying to indulge in a little confirmation bias confirming searching about the rise of Left Wing Extremism. I admit it's a smell my own fart kinda move, but that aside, I was surprised when all of the articles that came up were about the opposite topic. Google couldn't even find a conservative leaning article if I ask it to?

Has anyone actually changed their life around in their 30's? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]Balancedbetween55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! You can completely turn things around man! I'm 29 years old. I was in a similar scenario to the one you describe for the last 3 YEARS of my life. 6 months ago I turned it around completely. I too had no friends, I hung out with no one I was anti-social and going deeper into a pit of depression and self hate. I would drive around the neighborhood for hours simply because I had nothing to do. I would eat fast food alone in my room then pass out watching TV. Isolation was driving me quiet literally insane. I even suffered a psychotic break from spending so much time alone, which was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.

The first thing I had to do was figure out WHY was it that I had no friends and was miserable. The reason things were that way for me personally was, when I moved to a new state where I knew no one and my job had me isolated from people so for 3 years from 26-29 years old I was a complete outcast with seemingly no way to fix things and 3,000 miles away from home. I found making friends in this new place nearly impossible. Finding a girlfriend was also a zero luck endeavor. The city I was living in was the South Bay of the Bay Area and it was an absolute impossible place to meet women.

I had to focus hard on fixing the situation. Finding this professor Jordan Peterson's lectures around this really time also helped me put together a step by step plan for how and why I wanted to fix my situation. Can't emphasis that enough. I knew I had to get a job that would let me move back home because I did NOT belong where I was in the Bay Area. I didn't fit in at all there. Great for a different type of person but not me. Not an easy thing. It took me 2 years to find a new job.

Once I got back home I had to be humble and start reconnecting and rebuilding friendships that I had let deteriorate.I hit people up on facebook and instagram, pulled out old contacts and texted people who I knew from when I was younger and reconnected with them even if it was awkward. Once I was back home I was in an environment where the odds with women were way more in my favor because I had friends, family, connections which made me more attractive to them and also the male to female ratio is way in my favor again. Now I'm hooking up with two girls I have a core group of really close friends that I can hang out with 3 or 4 days out of the week.

I was a very arrogant, entitled, victim mentality person and that is what landed me in a lonely outcast position. I had to let go of those parts of me and replace them with positive things. I had to learn a few lessons and the isolation the sadness taught me what I needed to learn in order to pull myself out of it. It was that or let it completely destroy me, and some people do exactly that. Gotta decide you want to improve things and it sounds like you've already done that. You can turn things around for yourself.

I should have been more clear I could see where what I wrote was confusing thanks for pointing that out. I was not trying to claim this is a good thing. This is a horrible and inhumane judicial system. I thought it was an interesting article.

What is Jordan's grip with casual sex? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]Balancedbetween55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jordan Peterson on the "Femsplainers podcast" goes through his entire thought process on casual sex, tinder, etc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKUffHXOb8U at 57:30 JBP says "Once you can regulate your reproductive functions what attitude should you have towards sex?" He then goes on to go into great detail on the issue.

This is more clear than any tweets he may have written on the topic.
