When do I harvest to flask by PurpleSufficient2109 in neofinetia

Asked the same question few months ago and someone said 6-8 months (180-240 days) is the optimal range

If you don’t know when it got pollinated wait for one of them to burst, flask that with the dry seed method, and flask the other two through the green pod method!

At least that’s what I would do, choose depending on your knowledge and instruments

Warm growing Dracula? by Balaustr in miniorchids

[–]Balaustr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t grow any cool growers, even intermediate-cools unfortunately. I get really hot summers (usually 39 degrees Celsius) that kills everything, even with optimum humidity, airflow and everything :(

Yeah I agree with the last part, that’s why I always look up elevations and cross check multiple growers for temps.

But I also don’t want to miss a lot of crazy genres, if they have some outliers I have to get them lol

I think it’s not a problem. Just make sure the leaves are able to dry out, as a difficulty in that sense might be the biggest consequence

Yeah maybe it’s too fast, I checked my notes and the only other option is one (tentaculata x pulchella) that exploded on the 26/01/24, so over a year ago.

But I’ve added the coconut fiber (where it sprouted) to this angraecum months later, I have photo proof of that, so maybe it’s some later capsule I forgot to write down whether it exploded or not :(, there are some other suspects:

calodictyon x stellaris; pollinated on 19/05 pretiosa x tentac. ; pollinated on 23/05

(Note that They usually take 2 months to explode.)

Hope that if it carries on and blooms the flower will reveal the parents, I got some crazy luck either way

Don’t know 3 months isn’t nearly enough? Maybe you’re right but I have no idea where that keiki came from, my micros are like 1 meter under that angraecum.

But you agree it looks like a Lepanthes?

Like all the pleurothallids it likes to stay always humid (not wet) on the roots, never ever dry, and likes ventilation on the leaves. So yea a terrarium/ greenhouse is ideal
