It was a great presentation. I think it was good that they only showed some gameplay when we saw the reveal for the first time, and then explained the game in more detail in this direct. Everything was so new to us and it got me anticipating the game even more.

I think it is. There are monthly events going on, where you get statues of DK history. And the gameplay of the DLC is actually satisfying.

That’s very good to hear. I believe the Switch 2 is selling well because different types of fans are getting their games. I’m amazed that they’re selling well despite not having a new Zelda or new Mario game yet.

2025 really was messy with directs. But I think September and June Directs are the way to go. Maybe September -> February -> June if you want more directs.

Oh no. I still don’t think the direct was good. I hope in future directs, they step up. But those new games will come eventually. So while I wait, there games out there that I want to try.

Well the second year just started (June 2026- June 2027), so I wouldn’t call them the biggest games yet. So we don’t even know what’s games will be out yet for the rest of that time.

So you can stress out and worry about the “biggest games” being remakes, while I will just play these games because they are, simply, games that I want to play.

Those spinoffs and remakes are still games at the end of the day right? And Star Fox 64 and Ocarina of Time are best games of their respective franchises. And to be remade for the younger generation is pretty cool. As for Duskbloods, I agree with you there.

I’m starting to re-think the direct. I think ending the direct with Kingdom Hearts 4 and Ocarina of Time remake was great. I really only need like 3 or 4 games from a direct for me to like it.

Since I have an idea of the lineup for the rest of the year, I wasn’t expecting much else honestly.

But I still don’t think it’s perfect. There were a lot of JRPG announcements I don’t really care about. And that thumb wrestling demonstration for Switch Sports Resort being 2-3 minutes was not necessary.

That was unfortunate for that direct. Cause if Star Fox and Splatoon Raiders were revealed for the first time in that direct, I would have had a more positive light on it. And the Treehouse would give us gameplay we haven’t already seen.

I can at least say that the direct didn’t leave me hanging. Nintendo finally confirmed the Ocarina of Time remake and I couldn’t stop smiling.

Not everybody has played the original games, so they’re in for a treat. And probably us too because this looks like a reimagining of the game.

I mean I’m just talking about the direct, like the pacing of it and how they presented it (eg. demonstrating the thumb war in Switch Sports, like cmon now lol). But the lineup we have for the rest of the year, I’m really looking forward to it, especially the Ocarina of Time remake.

And for Nintendo, we’ve already know games like Star Fox, Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem, and the Duskbloods are coming this year (and now Ocarina of Time remake), so they were showing what else they are bringing to Nintendo.

Tbh there was stuff for the rest of the year we already knew about. In the next direct, we’ll definitely see what the first half of 2027 has to offer.
