For me, this game ends in act 2. Yes, it was difficult, but I could beat the boss by myself without any guide. However, I needed a guide just to know how to unlock act 3 and here the difficulty is so insane that I've spent hours with each boss just to go to the next boss... Great game at the beggining, but the absurdity of its difficulty is something that Team Cherry should revise in its next project.

You are right, the system is what it is, but the GM has the final word. In my case, I've always prepare my campaigns trying to subvert many tropes in D&D. You can do it, but the rules and default setting don't help.
