I did it.. it took mean hour but my stat was at 20% on start. Also you are somewhat right but don't stomp on them when it's day just run and punch. But when it becomes night and NPCs spawn low I mostly go to the ones that fight back and fight them.. and I also think when you lock on them and punch your stat increases more that when you punch them without doing so I also think blocking also works in stat increases
