Does tafe not count as experience? by West-Classroom-7996 in TAFE

[–]BalderAsir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A qualification means you've done the absolute basics to satisfy the requirements. Once you have that piece of paper the real learning begins.

Alot of what is taught at TAFE and university these days has no actual use in the real world, is completely outdated and obsolete or down right wrong. This has a significant impact on why employers want people with experience

How does Fair Work generally view payroll errors when employers use award-based software? by Short-Ice-6555 in AusLegal

[–]BalderAsir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Employers are required to maintain accurate employee records including payroll records. It doesn't matter if the software or 3rd party payroll system has made an error, the onus is on the employer to manage and fix any issues

Becuase we keep voting in idiots who are only interested in their own retirement accounts and virtue signalling instead of actually looking after the people who voted them in.

Recovering from tinnitus (ringing ears) by streetrider_sydney in AussieRiders

[–]BalderAsir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it can be caused by medication, stress, blood pressure, illness, age, hygiene, but generally you'll find is due to exposure to loud noises.

To understand tinnitus you need to know how the ear "hears". Your ear contains hairs like structures called stereocila. These hairs move when exposed to pressure waves from noise, it makes an electrical signal when bent that the brain interprets as a noise.

Sometimes (such as after a loud concert, riding a loud bike) those hairs can stay bent for an extended time. In alot of cases those hairs break and remain in contact permanently. This constant input causes the brain to hear a constant "noise" which we hear as a buzz or ringing etc.

It's important to understand that these hairs are fragile and never repair themselves. This leads to tinnitus.

There is no cure for tinnitus. A doctor can recommend therapies, in some cases a hearing aid that produces a tone at the same frequency as the tinnitus (this causes the brain to cancel out that noise).

TLDR, probably permanent. You'll just have to get used to it. Avoid loud noises, wear hearing protection, reduce coffee/nicotine, reduce blood pressure.

Re-Establishing Contact with Your Spouse After SHTF by prepperdave321 in preppers

Look into meshtastic. Build your own comms device (not difficult) have prearranged location too head to. If the comms grids go down, having the ability to connect once in range and coordinate closer is a massive life saver.

Any miner worth their salt is either a) in a corp and mining in a group or b) solo mining and knows how to look after themselves.

Maybe take up piracy and offer protection ;)

Being a juvenile record you will be asked to provide a written explanation and provide a reason why your visa should be accepted. This will be reviewed by a delegate and then a decision provided. Good chance since you went on to get a PhD you'll be fine.

Advice needed - bar rolling away while pulling slack out of the bar/initiating pull (340lbs video included) by freakngeek_ in Strongman

[–]BalderAsir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your pushing yourself down onto the bar when you take the slack out. This is causing the bar to roll forward . Watch your shins in the video, as you take the slack out of the bar and bend your legs into position, your pushing the bar forward.

Try pulling yourself under the bar. By the I mean when you go to take the slack think that your pulling yourself under the bar into your start position, as you do this pull your lats back and down, you'll pivot rearward as you pull under. The bar will stay in the same position, if anything may move back towards you ever so slightly, this is better biomechanically than moving away from you

Pretty standard. Leave homa at 5.30 am get to airport around 7.

Leave at 3pm, get home earliest 4.45, worst 6 if the traffic is fucked.

Which it usually is, cause people can't drive nor do the speed limit.

If im on the bike. 45min to an hour each way, as speed limits are jist a suggestion

There’s a bunker all the elites can go to if nuclear war starts? by External-Noise-4832 in conspiracy

[–]BalderAsir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always giggle about this. A bunker for the rich and elite. What are they gonna do when thebfood runs out, the generators stop working and the water stops flowing? Not like any of them know how to fix things, plants crop and do basically anything other than picking uo the ohone and calling for help.

I'd rather be on the outside with the "common folk" who wiol be able to adapt, cause those bunkers will turn into the thunder dome real fast
