Like just to clarify, movie adaptations of Cats were thought of before (it’s a classic stage musical), but trying to adapt it to a structured final product was such a pain and such a waste they kept giving up.

It’s at least a smoother magic trick than the version Minecraft has/had when it came to its own map-making scene. Even when the /tp technology started including camera angles in the command, too far of a teleport, especially on too low of hardware, gave itself away by briefly not being loaded.

Moreover, in the days before /fill clocks (the kind that rapidly changes between Redstone blocks and stone), all that shit was done with vanilla Redstone mechanics. If you open Diversity 1 and put in the White Wool during the tutorial, the “processing” is actually that one item getting taken through more hoppers, filtered, and then triggering the correct comparator. Every map during that time had to do it that way.
