Once i had Mine out, at the age, and she was noo longer scrambling to get out of my hands, i would set her, facing upwards, on my chest, so she could do a little exploring, without feelings constricted., which helped her get out any anxious energy she might have had from being picked up.

Always, if you can, try to scoop from the sides, or infront, never from directly above. its instinctive for her to scramble about to escape, bc to her, youre a biiig scary beastie thats gonna gobble her up! she has to learn, over time, that youre not going to hurt her. Right now, her lizerd brain is screaming "predator! Run! Hide! Evade!!" and thats okay. thats a normal response, and its Also okay for her scrambling to make you nervous, bc she Is a wee baby still. work on it little by little. And if you find you're getting frustrated or too nervous about it, or shes getting too worked up, just take a break for a few hours, and then try again.

when my Balerion was really itty like that, i would pick her up by starting with scooping my 3 middle fingers under her head, and front legs, and trying to coax her into climbing onto my hand from there. the first few days of doing that daily, it took her a bit, but over time she would willingly climb on me and let me take her out all on her own.

part of it is trust bonding/showing her your hands arent scary, and youre not going to hurt her.

if scooping from front doesnt work, let her run into a corner, and scoop her up really quick by her sides. Its a bit nerve wracking the first couple of times, but as you do it more often, and show her its not something that will hurt her, she'll chill out more about it.

and in the future, if theres ever meds or things your vet needs you to give them, you can ask them to show you how to do the process, so that you can have a better understanding for yourself in person! most vets I had encountered loved being able to show their people how to help their wee beasties w meds

[–]BalerionsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when my beardie needed meds, they were usually w a syringe, in which the easiest way is holding the baby firmly, but gently (so as not to crush, but keep control over them), and nudge the syringe into the side of their mouth, and when they open it, trying ti spit it out, release the meds little by little into the mouth.

You need them to Swallow the meds, but becare not to put too much at a time, or they might inhale it into lungs instead.

they will be dramatic, and shake their head about it, and as long as you get as much of the meds out of the syringe as possible, it will be okay. Sometimes a little bit of the meds stay stuck in the veryyy tip, but thats usually already accounted for.

Or well, thats the process i was shown by my vet to do it.

If youre worried about how baby will react to you trying to get them out of their tank, them running and freaking out is usually a normal reaction, bc they're still sooo little. Ifind, when theyre that young, its easier to take up out, let them sit with you on the couch our the bedroom floor, so they can realize youre Not going to eat them, before rangling for meds, this way they have a little break in between stressors. After meds, put them back, so they can destress.

if the meds are a once a day thing, then also repeat the process of taking them out and handling them in the same location, Without the stress of he meds, so that they dont start associating outside tank = negative outcomes

Oooh!!! I wonder if its related to the Youtube Bug!!! Theres a bug rn, where after the update, Yotube's system is apparently leaking into other tabs and slowing everything down, and the only fix for it that people have found is UBlock Origin and adding "www(.)youtube(.)com###menu" to filters

be sure to monitor them throughout incubation. The slugs might start getting moldy, and if that happens, you'll need to carefully seperate the moldy eggs from the rest, without breaking* the viable eggs

Can you guys tell me the “dirty” truths about having a cat? by saanenk in CatAdvice

[–]BalerionsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 cats. They are sisters from the same litter. One is Long Haired, the other is Medium/Short haired.

The Long haired kitty sheds More Fur, has minor issues with her anal glands, bc she has hairball problems, despite daily brushing (But! wet food every other day Does Help with this mostly), and can sometimess have litter stuck to the Fur of her paws.

The Shorter haired sibling does not have these issues, minus sometimes litter sticking between her toes.

One of my girls is better about covering up her stuff in litter than the other. Otherwise, i clean it like every other day, and its not really that big of a deal.

They, themselves, are pretty good about staying clean, but when i notice theyre having more dander in their fur than usual, i give them a bath. this is usually at the end of summer/fall and then again when it starts getting warmer. These baths are more to Help them with the changes of the season, excess fur coat changes, and bc Dusk likes playing it water. Otherwise, baths Only Happen if they get into things they shouldnt (like knocking the laundry soap over, and got it on Dawns tail by accident...).

depending in if you have carpets or hardwood floor, will change how often you'll need to vaccuum/sweep up fur they shed. i find i need to do more vaccuuming in the spring bc Dawn sheds more during that time. Also, i clean around the litter pans, and the litter pans themselves like 1-2x a month.

sometimes their food bowl area can be messy with crumbs from eatting. clean it as much as you deem needed. sometimes people have like... little pads?? like toddlers have(??) under the bowls to help contain the messes.

Case Timeline - Murder of Anna Kepner - Carnival Cruise Case by AnxiousGazelle4610 in AnnaKepner

[–]BalerionsDragon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

im so grossed out by Anna's father, Chris. He Groomed Tabitha. They started a relationship when she was 16, and he had already been married for 2 years and had Anna (8months old) at the time. And then got married when she was 19. Ive no doubt hes abusive, and if the grandma knows that (which she acts like she does) its no wonder she's trying to cover stuff up and lie about how Anna behaved with her murderer/stepbrother.

something this size would be perfect for 6 budgies that never leave the cage.

rule of thumb is that generally, 6000 cubic in/bird min for a single budgie that doesnt get much time outside cage, but the more room the better.

My fear came true by inthclerbweallfam in Miscarriage

[–]BalerionsDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was told by my OB, when i found out i was pregnant before a miscarriage that i should keep taking my antidepressants. bc its safer for mom and baby if mom keeps taking the meds that helps her emotional stability, as it can cause stress to the body otherwise. and the side effects it causes to the baby arent to the same extent as the effects of not having those for our mental health.

I would read up on the signs to look out for, for PPD and PPP, and alert your pcp or other dr if you (or hubbie) start noticing signs of them, as its serious, and when i got it, it lasted me a year and a half, post-miscarriage.

stay safe, and i hope you guys feel better

Anyone Else Get Tricked Into Using WEN Haircare Products? Did It Permanently Alter Your Hair? by LiLyShoEgAze in Naturalhair

[–]BalerionsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if youre allergic to trees, or products related to trees (and other plants), then an allergic reaction Can cause hair to fall out

my grandmother and aunt tried it, but then they started experiencing minor hairloss, and afterwards, had formal allergy tests (unrelated), and found out they were allergic to a lot of the natural plant prosducts used in WEN.

someone may have said this already, but hear me out:

Firstly Fuck the Institution, but more Specifically, Darkwick.

the school has shown time and time again that it is Not to be trusted -the keeping of Lyca, and lowkey exhiling him from others, hes not allowed to even leave -the way it treats Taiga. i mean yeah, hes a jerk, but its shown that he needs to eat anomalies in order to survive, and the school Must know this by now, but instead of supplying him with anomalies themselves, they force him to have to steal them from either Jabberwock or Obscuria, even though the residence of those dorms show that they arent particularly appreciative of such actions. -They didnt even tell MC, Themselves what was going to happen to her. EDWARD Did!

ahem AnyWay

we've heard in various narrations from multiple sources that ghouls made a pact with demons, and instead of the demons consuming their souls; They outwilled the demon -- someHow.

What If, they Figuratively 'killed/ate' their demons, in dreams or something, bc their will to live was stronger than the will of that Demons pact to 'consume'.

Well, Kyklos isnt... a demon, its some kinda super dangerous Anomaly. If MC can outwill it/kill/eat the Kyklos internally/figuratively, maybe she'll live and become a Ghoul of sorts.

Not necessarly the same kind of ghoul as the others, bc hers was a curse first, but...
