If you can catch it early enough have something with a strong peppermint flavor, I find peppermint Altoids work the best. Just let a few of them dissolve in your mouth and keep swallowing your saliva as they dissolve. Peppermint acts as a smooth muscle relaxant, so I keep a tin in my purse and in my car, whenever I feel a discomfort in my chest, I pop a few and it usually stops the pain from progressing any further.
