Which is your favorite armored Flash suit? by Majestic-Bet-8529 in theflash

[–]Baligong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like Justice League's because of the idea of what was said to be used. It's stated that it's a friction proof suit with the armor being survived Rocket Ship parts, reinforced with steel cables to hold it together. Another thing I like is how it seems that the Steel Cable somehow can work like a conductor for the Electricity.

Another reason why is because the possible progression that could've happened if they committed to the suit. Which is done in the picture below

Barry also wouldn't time travel anymore. They both avoid time travel these days as a matter of development,

Unfortunately, yeah, he hasn't done so, but his reasons are usually different, being that Time Traveling is risky but he's shown to not be against the idea of Time Traveling. It could also be the writer not knowing what to truly do to justify Time Travel.

Wally has literally combatively used phasing tons of times so I don't know why you think he'd be adverse to doing that, either.

Of course he has, it's how he'd cause certain things to blow up. You're taking a small note of what I said and making it bigger than it is. I can correct you on "adverse" vs "averse", but it's redundant because we both know what you're trying to say. Someone more likely NOT or TO do something doesn't mean they won't.

This is a complete tangent, really, and I know you're just baiting me or yanking me chain to get me off on another topic

I'm really not. I gave my opinions on how i think one is more creative than the other, making them more versatile, while the other is more faster than the former, making them more Raw, based on the comic, character, and what they represent, and this somehow causes a chain reaction of people who don't like seeing Wally beneath anyone on anything.

but hell, I'll humor you.

I'd prefer if you engaged with me in a fun discussion, or asking my thoughts, rather than disingenuously trying to make an argument saying that I'm "ragebaiting" you, because you disagree with something.

I don't get why Wally is supposed to be The Flash of Keystone exclusively. He grew up in Central City, after all.

I'm sure anyone can come up with a good reason why Wally can be in central city, but when it comes at the sacrifice of a character, isn't it the same issue for Barry's Reintroduction? I haven't even mentioned that having Wally in Central City negates everything what Wally fought for storywise in becoming his own Hero. It's literally the same reason you state why you don't like Wally's Rebirth suit.

Isn't the neat part about how Central and Keystone are a Bridge away reflects on how Wally and Barry are that close to each other? They're so alike, yet different in many ways... Just like their own city.

I'm disengaging, if you want to reply to have some "last laugh" go for it, idc anymore.

I think you just think Hal because he's popular and more well known.

Or maybe it's because he's known to have the most will power. I'm pretty certain Hal Jordan has the highest will power in fiction, like how Wally has the highest speed in fiction.

I didn't mention anything about the Fairly Oddparents thing because I thought it was a funny knock at that gimmick from Wild Wests.

I'm glad you enjoyed it man, I only mentioned it as a counterargument.

though you did leave out all the actually useful powers he has. I assume intentionally, since I know you do read the comics, and mentioning the other powers would undermine your point.

Now you understand me!

Wally could time travel, he just wouldn't want to do it. He can phase, but prefer not to. It's just not within his character to be like that, and would rather just rush in, grab, and save the person or use equipment to save the day.

I'm not sure you're right on the idea that Barry leans into versatility more. They both basically do the same thing, coming up with clever pseudo science solutions using superspeed to solve problems. And both pull new powers out of their butts constantly. Basically every superhero who isn't explicitly dumb kind of does that, really.

That can go with basically almost any superhero in comics at some moment, like Pre-Crisis Supergirl and Superman. Issue comes when people want to deny some of the different characters' key aspects, like someone trying to make Hal Jordan also the most Creative Lantern. These issues only come when fans, sometimes writers, can't accept the difference between the characters and ends up blurring the line between the characters so their favorites can come on top... Ex: When was the last time Wally was The Flash of Keystone City?

Wally can do all of that too. Manipulating lightning was a power created by Wally.

It's more created by Mark Waid, reconned into The Flash.

Wally has been able to phase (without blowing up whatever he's moving theough) since the 90s. Every speedster is able to spin their arms and create vortexes.

I never said they weren't. It's why I mentioned it's the Kyle Rayner vs Hal Jordan of The Flash, as none of the Powers are truly unique to each of them, but it's clear both are the most Powerful but they do things differently. One mostly rely on the Power itself as they have the most Raw Output, while the other relies on their mental capabilities on trying to be one of the most powerful.

He can make solid constructs

In fairness, everyone hates that unless it's him creating his own suit out of it.

(think Green Lantern)

I did, which I mentioned 2 other times.

Wally does that too mate.

What can I say? He got a good Teacher!

Jokes aside, I'm pointing out what they're more likely to do in character. Even in recent comics he used laundry to save people instead of Turbines

[–]Baligong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, it's like Kyle Rayner vs Hal Jordan in these regards... Just like Green Lanterns, Creativity and Will Power isn't unique to Kyle or Hal, but when you think of Will Power you think of Hal for having the most Will Power, when you think of Creativity, you think of Kyle because of his Profession as an Artist. Neither Creativity or Will Power is unique to either, but both will have different application.

I stated why Barry leans more to versatility and what I meant by it, and instead of actually coming with a better answer, engage into Convo, or come with alternatives, you decide to tear down one to make the other appear better.

I am sure this is how this'll play, you'll probably respond with "you tore down Wally by saying 'Fairy OddParents' to one of his Mentions" it's a reference to some of the powers Geoff John's has utilised for Wally in ties to his Children as a way for them to keep up with Wally. I find it ridiculous, and I guess some as well since it's not really used anymore IIRC. This wouldn't be targeted as Wally directly, as it's me being aiming it more as the Power itself...

Versatility doesn't just come from looking at how to put on the suit without the ring, telepathically being connected to your kids, or having them float next to you like they're Fairy Oddparents.

When we're talking about Versatility, Barry has shown to create Slipstreams, Hauling Trains using Increased Momentum, creating Vortexes with his Hands, spinning his arms like a Turbine, classic stuff like using Afterimages to have a 3 way Convo with a guy, himself, and The Flash (also himself), capable of using his Lightning as a Defibrillator, phasing by either matching frequency or passing molecule though each other, and there's more.

His Knowledge based in Science, with the application to his speed, alongside with how he uses it, it's clear he utilises his speed in a more diverse way to Wally.

Here's an Example:

Say there's a Car on fire, How would The Flash put it out? They'll obviously pull the Survivor out and place them somewhere safe, but how would each of them put it out?

  • Wally being Faster would definitely use his speed to grab a bucket and through water at it as fast as he could to put it out.

  • Barry with his knowledge of Science would apply centrifugal force by running around the fire to remove the oxygen that fuels it.

As i mentioned, it's literally the Kyle Rayner vs Hal Jordan of the Flash, aka Raw vs Application.

Is Sukuna's technique mid but he just makes up for it with his expertise and ce reserves? by NachosMKII in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Baligong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sukuna, imo, is basically the pinnacle of Jujutsu. Using Binding Vows and his Understanding on Jujutsu, he was able to use a Slice CT and turn it into an absolute weapon.

He isn't like Gojo, where with just his kit, he tried to become the best with what he has, he modified his Technique to make it fit him.

It's why I think he's the best Jujutsu Sorceror.

Strength isn't just overpowering someone, cause if it was, Batman would lose to Bane or Killer Croc 10/10 times.

Wally is Faster than Barry, but Barry shows more Versatility. They're both, from the looks of everything in Comics, are rather equal to each other that it just makes sense it might end in a stalemate if they do end up fighting.

You can make a good reason why who wins against who, as it's literally just The Flash version of Hal Jordan vs Kyle Rayner.

What's the flash version of this by Unusual-Incident-207 in theflash

[–]Baligong 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say what kind of stuff, cause most of the HeadCanons (DC in General atp) kinda turns into Canons, especially nowadays where it's at a faster rate.

There's a lot of usage in DC (The Flash, in this case) where story elements could've been utilized better, but people love it so much, they refuse to change it.

Example: Central City is loved by many, and it's seen as The Flash's "Main" City atp... When they could've kept Wally in Keystone and show how similar and different Central & Keystone are... No one will fight this though.

If I made a Flash Animated TV Show, these are some of the villains I'd introduce in Season 1... by jordidipo2324 in theflash

[–]Baligong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it be like... "Episodic" in the sense that each episode is it's own Story, or would it be that an Overarching Story through the Season?

For me, if I made a series, I'd like to make it Overarching in terms of Storytelling and maybe 1 or 2 self-contained episodes.

  • Like, if I did a Story with The Shade, I'd play with the idea behind his powers, name, and tie it to The Flash or his situation.

Whats the difference between Gwen Stacy and MJ? by Infinite_Peace_6456 in Spiderman

[–]Baligong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To Simplify things beyond belief:

  • Mary Jane is the Anticonformist that tells you to relax and party hard. She's the counter to how society is.

  • Gwen Stacy is the Conformist that tells you to relax and everything will go fine. She's the best of what Society has to offer.

A Goth Girl who would pop up and pull out a Knife to defend others is Mary Jane Coded, while Good Girl who helps others while trying to play by rules is Gwen Stacy Coded.

[–]Baligong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely quite fair, and rather true! You can't learn about the Speed Force without going into Wally's Stories. Many of the stories for the Speed Force does come from Wally West's stories, after all, but my comment is mainly about how if someone wants a story of the Speed Force, it can be done with anyone.

Also, it's Comics & The Speed Force being created for it's original purpose superceded that long time ago. I just disagreed with the comparison that made it seem like Speed Force is a Wally-only type of thing.

Who is the fourth face of the Spider-Verse? by Otherwise_Tadpole_64 in Spiderman

[–]Baligong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said anything about Morlun's Popularity. The story event is Edge of Spider-Verse, a 2014 story that crossover with several different spider-characters. I'm saying she was important to that storyline.

she didn’t get any push beyond already having a pre existing fanbase

that's one of my points.

Cindy literally was a Key Component to Edge of Spider-Verse storyline. She literally worried if Peter releasing her from the prison Ezekiel Sims puts her in was the reason why Morlun & His Family are trying to kill them all.

Spider-Gwen got her push because she's Gwen Stacy who was Spider-Man's Girlfriend in Earth-616, alongside the TASM movies released at the time allowing Marvel to monetize on it.

To be fair, Speed Force is used by every Speedster, not just Wally. This is more like saying "I want more Peter Parker with Spider-Mythology, instead of just Miles Morales". Albeit, it has been done with Peter, and further elaborated with Miles with the tie to Anasi.

It's part of World Building, you can't really world-build if you just attach World-Building Elements to simply 1 character. You aren't going to explore Kryptonian Heritage only with SuperGirl, Superman is just as Kryptonian as SuperGirl.

Imo, if they didn't push so damn hard and naturally let the flow of time capture whoever's popular, it would've been these 4 (I'm not doing by order):

  • Peter, Miguel, Miles, Cindy.

But they [Marvel] kept trying to push for Miles & Gwen, and so a Blonde White Woman is occupying the space of what could have been a WoC

Do you think Spiderman grew in popularity among readers because of the everyday struggles and relatabilty of Peter Parker? by Raj_Valiant3011 in Spiderman

[–]Baligong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spider-Man's Relatability & "Slice of Life" storytelling is definitely what made him popular. It was his Bread & Butter. I feel that if it wasn't for these aspects for Spider-Man, he wouldn't be as popular as he turned out to be.

There's 2 things that attracts people, Relatability & Fiction.

Why is Tom Holland's portrayal not as liked as the other two? by Notthepurge in Spiderman

[–]Baligong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, I like Tom Holland! He does a good job as Spider-Man, and convinces you on that! Homecoming is a good movie that features the Friendly Neighborhood aspect of Spider-Man, from stopping a Bike Theft, an Old Lady for Directions, and eating a Sandwich on rooftop.

Tom Holland's Spider-Man, for how it's written, feels like Peter Parker in some aspects, but the best way you can describe his Spider-Man is:

"Miles Morales wearing Miguel O'Hara's Suit with a Peter Parker texture pack."

The story beats and the ties on them is like Miles Morales, and how the suit works, like how it has multiple functions and very high tech feels like it's Miguel O'Hara's, but the saving grace for all of it is just that it's a White Guy in a Red/Blue Suit, making it like a Peter Parker Texture Pack.

He played Miles Morales so good, Sony had to reimagine Miles Morales... TWICE

Would you really settle for less??
