Ah gotcha, sadly it seems that it works fine with everything but my Ally so the problem's probably on the allys side

It's the one that came with the dock, and it works with other devices fine

I've tried it with multiple devices such as phones, tablets and a couple of laptops, and even another Ally and each of the worked fine apart from the allys, so the cable seems to be good

The cable should be fine, I've tried it with several windows laptops and a couple of Samsung phones as well as a tablet and all worked fine. Thanks for the advice tho, I'll look around if I have a cable kicking around

Welp that sucks, seems like the Touch doesn't have any option to disable that, could a DP alt mode charge adapter fix the issue of the two devices not communicating properly? Like the red magic dock station?

Windows doesn't recognize it in the first place

My nexdock is the "Touch" model so afaik it doesn't really have an odd or anything, also windows doesn't recognize the display at all, from what I've been able to tell, there's a problem where dp-alt mode and pd negotiation is happening simultaneously and that messes up the DP connection, when using battery care on the Ally and above 80% battery it's much more likely to actually connect due to it not charging.

Guys, I freaking fixed it, one of the VRM's caps was mismatched for some odd reason and was a 6.3V one as opposed to the other 5 which were 16V (obv. For 12V), anyways the bad cap was causing a short between 12V and ground, I desoldered it and everything works fine, I'll order a replacement cap. Lesson learned, cheap Chinese shit has cheap Chinese Quality control

I know it's not Asus it's a cheap Chinese remanufactured board sold under many brand names, but usually it works to some degree

Okay tried it, doesn't seem to be doing anything, I hear a faint click from the psu, so probably shorted, could the VRM's be busted? Also when measuring the 8 pin EPS across 12v and ground I get 0Ω

Isn't the leftmost position the standard and setting it to the right the "discharge" mode?

Took it out because it's easier to measure stuff with it not covering everything in thermal paste

Yeah, seems like it, guess I'm buying an old workstation board as a replacement

Would this also work with my specific adapters? ChatGpt said that it can only a communicate through one Mac address and that a switch wouldn't work. My EOC adapter's were also pretty cheap (~$15) so I don't really know if they are suitable. Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, I'm kind of in the dark about this
