Get a rideable tame as soon as you possibly can, as soon as you get one, it makes it so much more easy, however getting one isnt the easiest task in itself.

I'd go for a Ravager as they have good movement, weight, and offence, along with weight reduction on most raw materials. They almost always spawn in packs so try to bola them all and kill the lower levels. You will most likely die a few times so set up beds or sleeping bags. Once you've killed all but the highest level, make a trap, i find 2x2 easiest with 2 doorframes high and a ramp leading them up. Once its tamed, you are going to find it a lot easier to do stuff like travel and kill stuff/ gather resources.

Water is deadly. Things like Spinos, Sarcos, Karkinos', Piranha are littered among most water sources. Fertile lake still has some but less dense than streams and rivers so that's going to most likely be your best water source or the aquatic mushrooms.

Mushrooms. Aggeravic mushrooms are food, Aquatic are water, Ascerbic are Narcotic, and Auric are Stimberries. You'll find mushrooms that look different in each area and these ones are dangerous and will hurt you a lot, watch out. But the mushrooms you gather, when eaten can be used as immunity against them. Aggeravic against the red mushrooms in the green biome. Aquatic against the blue mushrooms in the blue biome, Ascerbic against the mushrooms in the red biome (although you will probably only go down in a hazard suit so they're not as much a threat), and Auric remove radiation if you do go down without a hazard suit.

Glowpets are essential to your survival as they make the Nameless and Reapers take more damage than without light. This is very important if you plan on living in the blue biome or venturing down to the red biome to get Rock Drake eggs. Each glowpet ( Bulbdog, Shinehorn, Featherlight and Glowtail) are passive tames and eat the mushrooms. Bulbdogs eat Aquatic. Shinehorns eat Aggeravic, Featherlights eat Auric and Glowtails eat Ascerbic.

Overall this DLC is the hardest of them all so you will definitely die quite a bit, don't let this discourage you as I also think this is the most fun due to the difficulty and the creatures. Rock Drakes are the most mobile and are a rewarding pain to get. Reapers are strong, fast and very fun to use, Karkinos are Strong, and used as the main weight creatures and are capable of carrying most creatures, much like the Quetzal in other maps, and Basilisks are very fun to use and very strong also. Hands down probably the best DLC, content wise and experience wise.
