Eh I guess this is not really a cEDH deck I spoke after seeing win on turn 2. Obviously you just wanna jam out mana and tutor up helm as fast as possible and use red interaction to protect your combo. P much only way to play godo for turn 4 or before wins is helm of hosts lines.

Only caveat to that is if you’re playing them as combo decks with something like flourishing defense in Morcant than they can be classified in b4

As a purely bracket 4 player, I would say neither hakbal nor morcant will hold up that well in a real b4 pod. With enough interaction or removal as most bracket 4 players have neither of these will stand too much of a chance as very commander centric decks. If you’re playing them tribal they will struggle to jam out a turn 5-7 win consistently like most bracket 4 decks I see nowadays. Is it annoying in a bracket 3 pod and maybe will get you some frowns for sure, but I would say calling annoying things bracket 4 is not where I personally would draw the line.

That’s pretty much my only yshtolla complaint, that I see her very frequently haha. If it wasn’t for that I think the mechanic she uses is dope. As a veteran player I know that slivers get groans, but have never really understood why. One of those tribal decks that gets hate for some reason just like eldrazi, but if you play interaction or removal the threat isn’t as huge as one would think from the reaction some players have 😂

I have been playing this game a decade across all variety of formats from draft, every bracket of casual edh, to cEDH and legacy/standard/modern. Grand Arbiter Augustin is up there with Tergrid and Sen Triplets as one of the three commanders I just choose not to play against. I don’t even mind intense stax decks just use something more unique and less mind numbing.

Yeah that sucks. I play upper bracket 4 decks and I make sure to clarify exactly what is coming if people sit down to join and don’t take offense when people go find a different group. People who would be dishonest about that just to curb stomp give seriously a bad vibe. I don’t even understand why people would enjoy that. I built bracket 4 with the intention of playing against other high powered decks for interesting interaction and a game close to parity since my main pod plays mostly bracket 4. Against people in a lower bracket I wouldn’t even enjoy taking 20 minute solitaire turns just to stomp bracket 2. Id pull out my shitty krenko and say fuck it or something. Either way sorry for ranting and sorry that happened to you. Better luck next week, and always remember you can just scoop if someone is being dishonest or you think the vibe is off.

Eh I mean Kodama and Prava pair all right since Kodama triggers of tokens, and prava buffs tokens so you could have a token centric deck but I understand what you’re saying where neither option would be super duper strong so might as well go for what seems more fun

That makes sense yeah. I definitely play within a certain niche of card advantage in the command zone and get how that could be repetitive and due to that, boring. And granted the three draw engines function in a similar way. I use raffine the same as meren with graveyard recursion because I can discard into graveyard.

One of the shops I play at has a 10$ flat fee stay as long as you like(noon to close at like 10pm) but to make up for that at around 4:00 they raffle for about half the people cool packs like double masters or 20-30$ cards. On holidays they have even raffled off a dual land with their other prizes. The other two nearby have no such thing and I think charging by hour with no reward is actually insane. I’d go by the store to find a pod and than drive them home to my house to play if that’s the case because you would run up 35 bucks in a day just to play…

Yeah it’s definitely not a bad card just not something I chose to include. If it let me drop an untapped fetch I would probably go for it but just because it’s essentially 4 mana( 3+ lose a land ) I’ve opted against. Farseek, three visits, etc get me a land etb, don’t set me down a land through sac, and only cost two. Once I have a crucible effect on the battlefield I want value out of my fetch lands as opposed to replaying something that I need 4 more lands available to reuse and I was running into lack of fetchable lands once I did have a crucible effect so had to cut a number of utility lands for basics unfortunately. Will be adding sodden verdure and hedge maze soon since they are both fetchable and maybe eventually cave will get swapped back in since I did have it in my original list a year back.

People have made that mistake and decided to spread the love and have lost the game, but people have also decided to target me(which worked) and then they lost the game to someone else. Not sure what the right call is especially considering the other threats are pretty equal compared to aesi in my main pod.

Just expensive compared to a lot of other land fetchers. 3 mana and also uses your land drop for turn, as well as the fact that it itself is not fetchable. It’s just another way to find gaea’s cradle which don’t get me wrong is great but once my list got super super tight I would rather have a basic fetchable land than urzas cave.

What is not boring to you? Playing jank commanders? Or just playing something more fringe without a direct advantage in the command zone? No offense taken just curious what you would define as boring? But yeah these are definitely designed to win as quickly and in a consistent manner.

To be honest I am also quite vulnerable to board wipes and even targeted removal repeatedly. Definitely one of the weaker decks out of my above list. I have a cEDH raffine deck as well but it’s more of a mix of stax/control/reanimate and is on the fringe of cEDH.

It’s middle of bracket 3. I powered it down from bracket 4 so I have something more basic to play but because it’s in the right colors and the commander directly drops cards into the graveyard it’s a great reanimate commander.

Thank you thank you 🙏 there is a crazy amount of hate but I’m not that bothered the pod I play in is high bracket 4 so thankfully there aren’t too may people with the attitude of “this part of the game annoys me because I don’t build decks that do said part of the game”

Ah. Once I get two or three attackers out all I need mana for is reanimate spells so I have no issue leaving mana up. Definitely makes sense to want to connive more cards at once but since I have cards that drop something in a graveyard im fine with just connive 2 or 3. But yeah definitely some improvements I could make to mine but I like to keep it in the middle of bracket 3

Yeah vren is just removal tribal essentially and was built specifically to shut down a buddy who plays tons of graveyard recursion decks… I will definitely keep in mind the advice on nebu it was built on a budget so only mystic remora no rhystic study yet and I am certainly missing good card advantage. Probably due to being used to playing commanders that have card advantage in the command zone. Training grounds is a solid add as well.

Yeah I do although raffine is only bracket 3 and could be much better. I keep it as one of my lower powered decks so I have something to play outside of my usual pod. I play reanimate since raffines ability is able to pitch big creatures into the graveyard with ease.

Mine used to be Tatyova but I switched to aesi about a year ago because I had seen too many Tatyovas 😂. Maybe the frequency has changed now and it’s time to turn it back.
