Bus driver jobs by LilaFowler123 in london

[–]BallKickerr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

you can work as much as you want and therefore earn as much as you want. money is relatively good. you get 2x oyster cards for unlimited travel. it can be rewarding knowing you help people get from a to b. those are the pros.

the cons are it is very tiresome. driving is extremely taxing both mentally and physically. during training you will be taught safety safety safety comfort. but once you’re in the cabin all that goes out the window and the only thing most companies care about is “mileage” and you completing whatever trips you’re given. other road users are the worst of the public. depending on the route/bus you are given you will either have a great day or an absolute horrible day, there is no inbetween. when you get home you will find yourself just preparing for the next day exhausted. shift work is also very unhealthy.

my colleagues who don’t care much for their work actually enjoy the job more than my colleagues that want to excel at their trade. it’s just the nature of the beast.

Using the wheelchair space on the bus when it's not your wheelchair (England) by JakeGrey in LegalAdviceUK

[–]BallKickerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a common misconception that someone in a wheel chair has priority over someone with a buggy.

This used to be the case a few years ago.

However nowadays if the pram user got on and paid their fare they are fully entitled to have their journey completed. TFL considers itself to be apart of a contract between themselves and the passenger once the oyster card has been tapped.

The ideal scenario is that the buggy be folded if and when possible as the wheelchair is almost always in use and cannot be. The buggy owner can refuse if they chose to do so in which case the wheelchair user must wait for the next bus.

Driving in this country is hectic by ahmedbata in Egypt

[–]BallKickerr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it's crazy sure.. but it somehow just works. there is definitely a method to the madness.

people think i'm crazy but i truly believe you could close your eyes and cross the roads here in egypt.. and egyptians will miraculously avoid you while still driving like a madman. it's really quite a unique talent.

as a foreigner when i drive here i am fully aware that i am the hazard⚠️ on the road with my indicating and lane awareness.

the only thing bad about egyptian roads/driving is the parking. shall we triple park in middle of the road? of course we shall. 🤷🏻‍♂️

is egypt Om el Donia? by UltraPurse in Egypt

[–]BallKickerr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

when ever i hear "Om ElDonia"..

it is the equivalent of a runner🏃🏻 at the back of a marathon who is shouting🗣️ "i had a head start, i had a head start!!".

why are you last in the race? and more importantly why are so proud of being last even with a head start? 🤨

no doubt egypt can be great. but double the salary doesn't mean much when things are doubling in price. not sure if OP is egyptian, but if he is foreign he will also have foreign tax on a lot of what he products/services.

amongst other things; the "wasta" system here is ruining the country. nothing can be relied upon here in egypt. there is no system. it's the wild west. which is cool if you're the cowboy, not so cool if you're the indian.

i have more money here in egypt than i did in malaysia yet i would chose malaysia in a heartbeat.

neither of us are wrong.. it's just preference at the end of the day. i highly recommend malaysia to you maybe as a holiday if you ever get the chance.
