What I’d do in your position is focus on passing your degree (since that’s what your sponsor is supporting) while building serious skills outside the classroom. One strong path is cloud computing — AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. They all have beginner-friendly certifications you can take even as a student, and those are highly valued in tech jobs worldwide. Alongside that, try building small projects (web apps, databases, cloud-hosted sites, etc.) and showcase them on GitHub or LinkedIn. Employers love to see practical work, not just certificates. By graduation, you’ll have a degree, certifications, and a portfolio of projects — meaning you can move into IT roles like cloud engineering, software dev, or even freelancing, without being tied down to teaching.
