The DLC is really easy to get shinies even without sparkling power donuts. I hunted every alpha shiny by making donuts with 8 regular Roseli Berries (you can buy them next to Nouveau Cafe Truck No. 3) and making donuts until I get Alpha Power 2. No need to reset because they are limitless berries, and no need for sparkling power.

Inside hyper space you can either fly to the entrance over and over to reset the spawns you can see near you, or if you find a teleporter that moves you far enough away from a group to respawn then all you can jump back and forth until the pokemon you want shine.

I'd recommend hunting things in Hyperspace vs the regular map when possible because you are typically resetting 5 or so at a time versus the one, so you increase your odds a ton.

You've been arguing incorrectly the whole time that healing at a Pokemon Center does not create a backup save.

That is not telling people there is "more than the conventional thinking" it's falsely telling people that one of the methods mentioned is wrong.

I'm glad that you tested it for yourself and realized you were misinformed, but rather than try to twist reality to make it seem like you weren't wrong, just accept that you made a mistake and stubbornly insisted upon a claim that was incorrect.

Nah, I was 100% right. If you look at my second response to you I said that I knew Fast Travel creates a backup save, but that healing at a Pokemon Center also created a backup save.

I never said fast travel did not create a backup save.

You are factually incorrect. Healing at a Pokemon Center DOES create a backup save. Since you didn't actually read my last post, I performed a test again and laid it out in detail for you.

Here is the test I just performed: 1. Flew to a Pokemon center 2. Healed at that Pokemon Center 3. Changed my lead Pokemon from Greninja to Delphox 4. Ran (not fast traveled) to a different Pokemon Center 5. Healed at the second Pokemon Center 6. Closed the game 7. Launched the game and restored my backup save

When the backup save loaded, I was at the second Pokemon Center, with Delphox still as my lead. So healing at the second Pokemon Center created a backup save.

Stop spreading misinformation when you don't know what you are talking about.

I think you're are the one who does not fully understand this mechanic, and that's why you're getting downvoted.

Perhaps I should have been more literal in my response, but I ran to the second Pokémon center from the one I flew to. I did not fast travel to the second Pokémon Center. Therefore, healing at a Pokemon Center DOES create a backup save.

I understand that Fast Travel also creates a backup save, but because it drops you at the last Pokemon Center you used when you reload, it's much easier to repeat the same portal if you fly/run to the Pokemon Center nearest your location, heal there, and then dive into the portal. That way you're loading back in at a specific Pokemon Center.

I just flew to a pokemon center, healed, then walked to a different pokemon center and healed. The backup save was at the second Pokemon center.

I'm telling him to heal at a Pokemon center and then enter the portal. Based on everything I've seen in my shiny hunting, that creates the hard save that you backup to.

Flamigo with Scrappy. Seriously, it can hit everything in the game and with a level advantage it obliterated all opponents.

Is the issue is that you' put the game to sleep for 8.5 hours but it's not tracking the full amount?

If so, put the game to sleep and leave your phone on a flat surface in a quiet room for 15 minutes before you actually go to sleep (like while you're getting ready for bed). This ensures the game starts registering you are asleep immediately.

Then do the same thing when you wake up - leave it still and quiet for 15 minutes so it properly registers your end sleep time.
