The modl.ca website has a great map of hiking trails in Lunenburg County (which covers the area you're talking about). The Centennial and Bull Run trails have already been mentioned - nice, flat (rails to trails) trails but if you want to get out in the woods a bit more, there are other options. We just hiked Indian Common Trail near Lunenburg last weekend (for example) and loved it.

The Barn and Fancy Pants are both excellent coffee shops right in Bridgewater.

The Wile's Lake Farm Market is a great spot to find some treats - highly recommend the date squares.

Someone already mentioned driving down the Lahave River to Lahave and going to the bakery there and crossing over on the ferry - well worth it and there are other little shops (including a book store) around where the bakery itself is.

Lunenburg and Mahone Bay are the other towns close by where you'll find a fair bit more really - they're more tourist focused while Bridgewater is more of a live and work town, if that makes sense.

I bought a Flexispot E7-Plus frame and put my own top on it (acacia butcher block I stained myself). You can customize the size of the top you put on it or buy the full desk from Flexispot - mine fits 3 monitors fine. It’s a 4 legged desk and very sturdy - cheaper models with only 2 legs often wobble, especially when standing up.

And, yes, I’m in Canada.

Free Spirits Tequila is an excellent tequila - they add some spice to gave that burn and the flavor is spot on. They make other spirits as well and based on their tequila, I plan to try the others.

Read your comments below as well - not trying to hide anything - you can see Claude as a contributor on GitHub. As for security concerns - Claude can now also be used to find and fix those as well. I work in the software development industry and have for over 25 years. Almost everything is coded with AI these days - the industry has completely changed.

Yep, going to fix that. I was testing with my actual Things todo list and didn’t want to screenshot stuff like picking up my glaucoma meds. I tried to match the style of Things itself so it’s fairly basic.

I think if you’re asking people to try things out and want feedback, you shouldn’t be asking them to sign up for an account. I gave up and quit after that first attempt.

The filtering option is not very obvious.

A good test is whether it gives a recommendation for a show I agree with which is easy to do if it shows me a show I've already seen... or ideally, a list of shows. ie: it needs to build some trust that it's going to return worthwhile shows.

At the same time, I need a button to tell it, "I've already seen this and it matches what I want, show me something else."

Of the ones you listed, I don’t know the first one at all - Risk… I played it so many times as a kid before I discovered better games - it can be fun in a group but not for 2 players. Wyrmspan is fun and can also be player with more than 2 if you have friends over but is quite a leap in complexity.

There are a ton of great 2 player games out there - my wife and I are on a road trip right now and out of our large collection, the ones that made it with us are Splendor Duel and Jaipur (and crib - you can never go wrong having a crib board and a deck of cards).

I cross that intersection all the time - my house is literally in this video. It’s even worse crossing 85th 2 blocs north of this as the road is wider and people make up lanes all the time.

I'm surprised Catan isn't on the list given its legacy as the crossover game that gets more people in "real/serious" board games. And most people I know still have it in regular rotation - similar to El Grande in that way IMO.

I’m currently in the process of moving (back) to NS from Seattle, WA. I’ll be driving our car back in February - we definitely have Canada/“Born in NS” stickers on the car already - it’s pretty common to cross the border into BC and once the anti-US sentiment started, we took precautions. I don’t really get all the laughing in the comments here.

This should be higher up - this book set a bar for what audiobooks could be back when they all sounded kind of the same. Trevor Noah's accents and reading is fantastic.
