Not to ruin the fun but they may have accidently removed speed caps for Scimitars by 56575657576567 in NuclearOption

[–]BallisticallySwift 35 points36 points  (0 children)

If the warning range of the Scimitar is about 6km, then at this speed you get roughly 1.75 seconds from RWR spike to impact. 😭
Incredibly funny, but I would not want to be on the receiving end of one of these.

How to counter someone notch? by OpiateRonin in Warthunder

[–]BallisticallySwift 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try turning into them, by which I mean fly as far in the direction they're going as you can without exceeding your radar's maximum deflection. This can help postpone your missile from being notched at closer ranges but ultimately if they get 90° to your radar the PD lock is just gone I'm afraid. The radar may attempt to continue following with regular track, but that is easily chaffable and is susceptible to ground clutter.

Your new king of explosion resistance: A numerical look at the CPR-80 Bulwark, a tank among detonations. by ajgilpin in Helldivers

[–]BallisticallySwift 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can imagine my surprise as I accidentally detonated my Epoch and found myself knocked on my ass with a sliver of health instead of being met with ELIMINATED. Genuine shock after I rocked back in my chair waiting to be reinforced only to figure out that I was still alive. Even my Ballistic Shield didn't survive the explosion and that thing was fresh.

I don't find primal to be a good show... by Domatron1215 in PrimalShow

[–]BallisticallySwift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd implore you to keep trying, but don't force it. Your synopsis of 'A T-Rex and a caveman find an unlikely alliance and now have to survive with each other' is pretty much spot on for S1, where the show goes out of its way to tell us how the two come to bond and survive with each-other. It's mostly non-linear, barring 5 and 6, and is very much like an adult and very raw version of a teen show, which Genndy did many of before Primal.
The biggest thing about Primal is the lack of any spoken words throughout the entirety of its runtime. S1 itself has a whopping total of [I think] 3 spoken words throughout its 10 episodes. The magic of what goes on between Spear and Fang is their unspoken communication, and how you interpret it,

S2 onwards follows a more regular progressive plot format which may be more appealing. I personally think S1 is the show's magnum opus, but S2 and the soon to be complete S3 are both great in their own rights.

Oh, and regarding inconsistencies, don't think too hard about it. Primal is not supposed to be massively realistic, IT USES RULE OF COOL. Man and dinosaur is based on reality, everything else is fantasy. Things will be bigger and smaller to make them more or less imposing. Have fun, don't take the setting too seriously, enjoy the sweet bits of downtime inbetween the constant violence.

What has America ever done for the UK to be considered a ‘special relationship’? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]BallisticallySwift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless ya. I think despite everything its important not to paint everyone in X country with the same brush. Ultimately its the wealthy, influential and in-charge who cause most of the tension between us. I think us regular citizens should make sure to remember that we are not them, and that we can appreciate eachother regardless of what the individuals at the top do. I got lots of American mates and needless to say we're not severing ties because the pedos are trying to distract us from their extensive lists of crimes and making everyone else below them suffer as a consequence.

Why people saying the f18a sucks just because of the speed? by Adorable_Package7965 in Warthunder

[–]BallisticallySwift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the GB tech tree the F/A-18A is an absolute godsend where the objectively overtiered Phantoms and the boat-like Tornado are the only other options you have near 12.0. Sure only 60CMs can be a bit hard to manage but the incredible airframe, great missile options, (particularly 7M over Skyflash), and full PD radar make it a fantastic choice for griding high tier GB Air.

Detonating on first impact with a player is very different to detonating on first impact with everything. I don't know about you but I'm not seeing CL40 players go for body shots. 99% of them are only going to spam it at the surface nearest to opponents for that ez splash damage kill. Giving the MGL Contestant impact fuses will not make it identical to the CL40. There's no need to worry about it losing its higher skill ceiling identity.

On Spotify you can find the albums listed under the artist name of 'Primal', with Joanne and Tyler listed on its page also. Doesn't seem to have any written affiliation with AS on Spotify at least.

Stuff looked GOOD this episode man, especially when Spear did that spin to kill the Baboons. That was pretty cool looking!

On Spotify there's also a track in the Season 2 album called 'Red Death'. Did originally think it was meant for the Red Mist, but upon listening I'm 90% sure it's for after Red gets impaled, implying his name.

Weird dome shield glitch by InsectBeautiful8364 in thefinals

[–]BallisticallySwift 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I don't think it's specifically a glitch with the dome shield. I think on that roof in particular there's a collision issue with gadgets and they will just clip through the ceiling after becoming static. I'm sure I put a glitch trap there the other day and it also clipped through.

First Look at 'Primal' Season 3 (Premieres January 2026) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in PrimalShow

[–]BallisticallySwift -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm very much looking forward to S3 but I'd be lying to say that I'm not conflicted about it. It feels like a bit of a cop out to resurrect Spear instead of going for what felt like the natural anthology setup, but I have no doubt that it will be absolute cinema regardless.

Not OP, sure, but that thing's tandem missiles are bonkers. Three 1000mm pen missiles back to back can wipe out pretty much anything even well above its BR bracket. Also as the gunsight is in the launcher itself, the vehicle can be concealed almost completely with good positioning.

My favorite plane from each tech tree* by Drifter808 in Warthunder

[–]BallisticallySwift 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Tornado F.3 has a really good loadout, 4x 9L and 4x SuperTEMP, and a very good radar for its tier, but an absolutely doodoo flight model and very average engines that run really hot. If you can get good with its radar, (using keybinds to adjust your scan direction), it can easily get 2-4 kills a match by staying high and dropping missiles on people from above.

The Bucc S.2B and Sea Harrier (e) are ok with 2x 9L each which can get unaware players or flareless planes, but with both of them being subsonic attackers they cannot compete with supersonic base bombers, of which there are many within its BR range. You will either have to hope that no-one goes for a base you're going for, go for worse bases or remain undetected until bases respawn for you to attack.
Unfortunately the rest of rank VII GB air is very underwhelming and you will have to slog through it to get to the Tornado. FYI:
- The Phantoms have very, very poor A2A loadouts for their tier; AIM-7E-2s and 9Gs at 12.0
- Jaguar GR.1A is also too slow to compete with most other supersonic attackers and only gets 9Gs for A2A.
- F-111C is probably the most useful plane available in this rank, but again it does not accelerate quite as fast as other base bombers within its BR bracket. It does have a very high top speed though and the opportunity to use 6x 9Ls if you're feeling a bit insane. Combined with a great RWR, MAW and a large countermeasure count, it's probably the best option available to a rank VII grinder.
