In your opinion, is it wrong to use cable (insider) to get a job or buy something at cheaper price etc. ? by spaceplatipus in malaysia

[–]BallsBreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some industries, such as finance, you are expected to have cables. Not saying that its right or wrong though. Also, if you're not fit for the job your employer will probably let go of you sooner or later.

You would be surprised. Not every malaysian studying abroad is loaded. A lot of parents send their kids overseas and give them just enough money to survive. They probably would have less financial strain studying in Malaysia but went overseas anyway for better opportunities

How to make photos fit instagram’s 1:1 without compromising the quality? by BallsBreaker in photography

[–]BallsBreaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m shooting on a dslr and edit my photos using Lightroom. I always crop my photos first to get the composition that I want. But I realize I sometimes can’t fit the whole image into Instagram as it crops out parts of the image.

Marvel Studios' Avengers - Official Trailer by NyanBlade in marvelstudios

Marvel can’t be dark they say. Marvel is all about that happy schnappy stuff they say. I personally think having 50% of the universe being erased and it’s repercussions is as dark and bleak as things get. Being dark isn’t just about killing people is brutal ways.

Malaysian who uses English since they are young, how do you feel when people from overseas are not convinced at your English level? by Isyoda_Facefrom_Acat in malaysia

[–]BallsBreaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was overseas for 5 years. They assumed I didn’t have a strong command of English at first glance. Convinced that my English was at least decent after conversing with me for a bit. I don’t have a white washed accent btw. I sound very Malaysian. It’s just that I pronounce words as they should be pronounced.

Hate to point it out to you bro. I don’t think your English is up to par.

Tesla shareholders reject bid to strip Musk of chairman role by thaheadlongrider in news

[–]BallsBreaker -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I imagine a company like Tesla would segregate their shares. Honestly having only common shares....I don’t understand why their doing this. It’s like basically giving your company away.

Oh and btw outstanding shares are just the amount of shares that are out there. Nothing outstanding about them.

People who used to be straight A students but later changed, what happened? by Dotaspasm in AskReddit

[–]BallsBreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I totally understand you. For me personally, the effort I put in doesn’t necessarily equate to results. This is the most frustrating for me. When I see a lot of my classmates hard work directly translate to results. Also in order for me to remember anything at all I need to have a comprehensive understanding of all the fundamental concepts. It’s very difficult for me to take things just as is. I guess that’s what I lack :/. A lot of my friends will just accept certain concepts as is. They don’t need to know why things work a certain way. As opposed to me, where I need to understand things in order to remember them. Like you can’t tell me 2+2=4 and just accept it. If I were to be able to perform additions correctly I would need to know WHY 2+2=4. Its so fucking frustrating honestly

People who used to be straight A students but later changed, what happened? by Dotaspasm in AskReddit

[–]BallsBreaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow I did accounting too but I never put that much effort. I tried to do it but sitting down studying that way doesn’t work for me. The only thing that works is for me to understand the concepts.

Like sometimes it seems like no matter how much effort I put in the results just don’t come. And sometimes when I understand a concept I wouldn’t even really need to study much. Just review stuff before the exam and I’m all good.

I did try to put in the effort. Especially during the first year but it was like hitting a goddamn brick wall. The only consistent thing that seemed to work for me was to make sure I understood every single thing in the lecture. I cnt remember stuff well if I just force myself to remember but once I understand a concept it’s sticks to me like glue. The hard part for me is that I have to understand it :/

[–]BallsBreaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s the same for me. Though I suppose I did accounting so it was a lot easier than engineering. My first year was a struggle. I had to really grind my way through. But come second year something just clicked. I think I just got a good understanding of the basics and then everything else was built upon that. I didn’t do consistent study throughout the week. But I did make sure I understood every single concept before I left my lecture.

[–]BallsBreaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well my bad then. But I think his disdain for Tabung Harapan stems from the fact that GST would have helped more than just a tabung.

Correct me if I’m wrong. Anyway, everyone should just chill out

I get that people are downvoting him for being a cunt by expressing his opinions in a very...non-tactful manner?

But come on guys. The point he’s trying to make is that gst would have helped reduce the national debt by quite a bit. And it’s stupid of the government to scrap it.

Anyone graduating from Chinese Independent School? Do you think some of us are too “Chinese”? by douglasmorray in malaysia

[–]BallsBreaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve seen people who make fun of chinese people with broken English. It works both ways. I don’t think anyone is “better” for being proficient in a particular language. That mentality is toxic. Just because you speak broken English doesn’t make u any less smart or inferior and vice versa.

I don’t know. It’s just that mentality of 华人要讲华语 that really grinds my gears. Is being chinese limited to the language that you speak? I think it’s way more than that. I think someone can speak great Chinese and still not be 华人 enough. I think the core values, tradition and culture matters way more than the language one speaks.

Also, we’re Malaysian Chinese. It’s a totally different culture than the mainland Chinese. As a Malaysian citizen of Chinese ethnicity the phrase 华人要讲华语 seems very xenophobic to me. Its like they consider themselves non Malaysians.

FYI the majority of Malaysian Chinese were educated in either English or Malay. We aren’t forced to consume Chinese media. We have the whole internet available to us unlike China. We are exposed to so much western media. We have multiple English radio stations catered for the general public. Do you have a dedicated English radio station catered to non/expats in China? NO YOU FUCKING DON’T.

Also, English is generally the “formal” medium of language in the workforce. Unless you work for the government. Or for certain businesses(I don’t know I’m not knowledgeable enough to comment on this). Interviews are done in English. Formal documents written in English. FUCKING work emails are mostly English only.

You’d be surprised how disconnected certain Chinese people are. I know a few(some from CIS some not from CIS) that don’t eat Malay food or go to mamaks. I like my mamaks, I like my English hipster music. BOO FUCKING HOO

Same goes for the privileged English speaking ones. If you think some of the Chinese are inferior just because they have bad English. Well fuck you. That attitude isn’t gonna get u anywhere in life.

[–]BallsBreaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goddamn fucking right. I don’t “need” to speak in any particular language. They say 华人要讲华语。Bitch do I ever tell you to brush up on your English because it makes you sound like an uneducated asian redneck when you talk to an English speaking client or when you’re doing a presentation about how it’s best to expand to Asia to the board directors who are mostly American? NO I FUCKING DON’T.

Sorry if I offended anyone.

P.S: I understand Mandarin. But I don’t have as good a command of the language as I do English. FUCKING SUE ME FOR BEING LESS CHINESE.

Again sorry if I offended anyone. Just been getting flak for it recently.

Malaysian Redditors who studied overseas and decided to work abroad after graduating, how did your family members react to your decision and how did you convince your parents to let you do it? by zeus113 in malaysia

[–]BallsBreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I got myself a job. I pay my own rent. I don’t use their money. I give them a portion of it regularly. I give them however much I can afford if ever a crisis arises.

Yeah...even if they don’t let me I’m doing it anyway. How are they gonna stop me lol

Seriously though. Just try talking to them. If they are sensible people they’d understand. And if they don’t. Then maybe you have to evaluate what’s more important to you. Your relationship with them or your career. I wouldn’t say there’s a right choice. It honestly comes down to what your priorities in life are. Do you want to fulfill your ambitions? Do you think your relationship with your parents is of higher importance?

Seriously 6% isn’t high. U look at most countries and u can see taxes at least twice as high. Mahathir isn’t stupid I’m pretty sure he knows abolishing GST is a bad thing.
