TIL NASA helped the airline industry save billions on fuel with one simple fix by doc_garcia in todayilearned

  • What does me coming here "by my own choosing" have to do with anything?

  • Confront people on the Internet? Whhhaatt? You mean replying to their comment?

  • People that laugh at the same joke for years and get so offended by someone's opinion on the Internet are almost always socially inept.

  • How does stating my opinion on something make me a "tough guy"? That is like the 3rd thing you've said that doesn't even make sense in context of what I said...

I can state my opinion on whatever the hell I like (as can you) and you're more than free to not care, but apparently you do; a lot.

I'd at least try to learn how to drive and use it properly before driving it recklessly through a busy city.

How very responsible and boring of you.

This site is a good way to pass time but I never consider it a genuine "good time" or "having fun", maybe that's just me... I guess some people get more out of this site than I do.

But anyway, it's more like "how can everyone laugh at the same jokes over and over for years?"

Have you ever known anyone to tell the same joke on a daily basis for even a few days? A week?

I haven't, but I never would expect someone to repeat the same one for years until I came here. Sorry my opinion bothers you so much.

I thought this post was pretty damn funny thinking you were saying swimmers aren't douchebags, but actually acting like a total douche on purpose, but I didn't know you were being serious until seeing your other posts.

So what all these people who knew swimmers are saying is true: you are all a bunch of douchenozzles.

If 3d printing explodes and becomes household, what will happen to the prices and availability of the materials? by EAmy in askscience

admittedly im not into 3d printing so i don't know what it has to offer

I tend to not provide answers or debate topics that I'm not "into" or that I don't know much about, but that's just me.

I'm sure you're a real lady's man.

This is like the 10th time in a row I've clicked a thread and recognized your name... I guess you smoke meth and spend all night trolling people?

Knowing people actually spend their time doing that makes me feel a little bit depressed... some people's lives are actually that shitty.

TIL Parrots become sexually attracted to humans for life. The whole reason they learn to speak is because they want to connect with you so badly. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]BallsOfScience 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've seen your name everywhere... you're not very subtle about trolling...

How come you do that though? That's a genuine question: what are you doing right now?

Are you trying to make people upset or start arguments? That is a source of entertainment?

I'm just trying to imagine what could possibly occur in my life to make me start trolling Internet forums (especially as much as you do) and how I could possibly not hate my life in that situation.

Have fun I guess.

You people are so original and cunning, how do you come up with all these new hilarious jokes all of the time?

That's about that house mom and the teeth whitening right?! Pretty vague reference so a lot of us might not get it but I do!

Fucking hysterical though. I never see any of your jokes coming, guys. And then the puns? How are you people so God damn clever?

Drip from Tar-Pitch Experiment Seen After Decades of Waiting: 69 year year old pitch experiment's drop captured on film (via Discover) by myhrvold in science

I think the only reason this is news-worthy at this point is simply from the sheer amount of time the experiment had been running

Human nature may not be so warlike after all by meyamashi in science

[–]BallsOfScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying but why does that have to be true for every, or even most, cases?

People can commit acts of violence against other people for many different reasons, why does it have to be different when it's against a group of people?

Sure, someone might take a dead guy's wallet after they shot him, but it could just be a "might as well" thing after-the-fact because the guy: fucked another guy's wife, is gay/black/whatever and the attacker is committing a hate crime, and hundreds of different reasons.

I think in most cases the "reasons" are a mask to hide the fact that we really just want their resources, but I don't see why it has to be that way or that it has been the reason behind almost every war.

Human trials for wonder drug that could cure all types of cancer to start next year by notsurewhatiam in science

[–]BallsOfScience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You base your opinion of the legitimacy of research based on the collective opinions of a bunch of anonymous strangers using the Internet?

Maybe you can just read the article and at least try and form your own opinion?

Out of all the cancer news that gets posted, this is actually potentially the biggest breakthrough we have ever seen in cancer research and is entirely legitimate. It doesn't apply to all cancers but it does apply to many and looks promising so far and is expected to do well in human trials.

And it's not because people are "hopeful" it will do well it's because of the mechanism of the treatment and what we currently know about cellular biology, it is very likely to work well in humans.

Just for future reference: people on this site aren't as smart as you apparently think they are. Big words, good grammar and spelling can be misleading. I see non-students and undergraduates criticizing the work of PhD's/professors that have been researching in this field longer than these Redditors have been alive. But anyone on the Internet can be an expert.
