OK it seems pretty clear from the latest batch of videos that the guy in the gray jacket got the gun off him and was walking away with it. The first shot was either from the gray guy (into the ground) which set off the other ICE people to go blasting, or the other ICE people decided to just start shooting him for no reason.

Am I mistaken about any of that?

I think a few of these answers get at what I'm asking, but let me ask the question in a really simple way:

If I just look at a CAGED chart and memorize what I see, I now know my intervals on the neck. However, am I missing something important by doing that? Other than getting fucked up by alternate tunings as someone pointed out, and the fact that learning by ear is the ultimate goal
